It's an okay movie.

MeechMunchie 05-07-2012 01:40 PM

Man, what a dick.

How did that sort of behavior work out for him?

A stingray eventually got him.

Oh, come on. It's gotta be at least "good" in your eyes.

OANST 05-07-2012 02:30 PM

It's good, I guess. I'm just not crazy about the visual style, and I think it came out more silly than genuinely funny.

Sekto Springs 05-07-2012 03:36 PM

Fight Club is one of those movies I thought was pretty good, but don't really want to watch again.

Wings of Fire 05-07-2012 03:42 PM

Really? I think it's better on rewatch.

Sekto Springs 05-07-2012 03:53 PM

Don't get me wrong, I've seen it multiple times, but I didn't go out of my way to do so.

OANST 05-07-2012 03:55 PM

I loved it when I first saw it in the theatre. I loved it less after each viewing. Similar to Fear and Loathing.

Mr. Bungle 05-07-2012 07:13 PM

I've seen Fight lub many times but still love it. I dunno, it just has that staying power for me. Fear and Loathing I can imagine would get old after a while.

Sekto Springs 05-07-2012 07:27 PM

I watch Fear and Loathing every couple of years, and I notice something new about it every time. If it was made by a less competent director, I'm sure it wouldn't have this effect.

Is that only because you know the twist ending and can see how it fits together? Because I knew that before I saw it the first time. I suppose I would watch it again if someone put it on, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yes.

I generally appreciate most movies like that on second watch. Twelve Monkeys, Unbreakable etc.

Twelve Monkeys

Yes. Excellent film.

Sekto Springs 05-07-2012 11:52 PM

12 Monkeys is an excellent film.

Ridg3 05-08-2012 12:04 AM

I had to watch Twelve Monkeys the second time. The second time was to understand the film. But yes, that is a fantastic film.

V For Vendetta was like that for me. There's a hell of a lot of stuff that's hidden in subtly in that movie.

Also, perhaps strangely, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The first time I watched it, I was so caught up on noticing the similarities and differences to the book (it was one of my favourites as a kid) that I couldn't relax and just enjoy the film. But the second time (and onwards), I did.
