Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. I loved it, though a few parts weren't very clear to me, such as the whole flute in the windpipe thing, but I put two and two together quickly after the ending.
I really want to see Harry Brown. Anyone else seen it? :
It's also widely accepted among the Freddy fanbase that the third film was one of the best. I can't say personally, they all have their iconic moments. I remember the sixth one being pretty meh, but I did enjoy New Nightmare for what it was. |
Just saw Iron Man 2. I liked it a lot, but it wasn't as good as the first movie. There were a lot of parts in the first half where several characters were talking over each other that got on my nerves, but otherwise I liked it. Mickey Rourke's character was great, and I found him to be the most likeable character, surprisingly.

The Lovely Bones. It was okay, but I felt that alot of parts were either laid on too thick or not thick enough. The mood of the film would shift too quickly, and then stay in that mood for too long. Some of the acting was very hammy, and some of it was painfully lukewarm. Mark Wahlberg did an okay job though, which was surprising. I guess because this was outside of his usual repertoire and I'm used to seeing him in terrible action films.
The montage of Susie's "perfect world" had serious pacing problems, and just seemed awkwardly placed. I was also hoping there would be more character development with her friends and family, but it seemed like she would just randomly check up on them. It would occasionally have some kind of connection, but it was just patchy at best. Nothing really happened linking her family/friends to the killer until the end of the film, and the rest was just lots of pretty pictures and tired metaphor. Hopefully that was succinct enough without needing spoiler tags. Not that anyone actually cares. |

Fantastic Mr.Fox. Fucking LOVED it.
|
Me and my flatmates declared an emergency movie night and watched Mongol.
Genghis Khan's touch will break you in two. |
Just like my massive wang.
|
I watched Godzilla vs. Gigan.
Godzilla and Anguirus are like an old married couple. "Hurry up, Hurry up!" "Okay, okay!" |
:
No joke. |
Are you talking about me, or Genghiz?
|
Do you have a wife?
|
The Frighteners. Damn good film. Way better than The Lovely Bones. Get back on the ball, PJ.
Also, Leto's daddy helped make it. No really. |

Iron Man 2. It was okay. The unsuccessful imitations from the beginning gave me some chills, especially the one that twisted the guy's spine. There were plenty of good laughs too.

I watched Van Helsing again a few days ago. I was at once reminded how awesome it is.
|
Teenagers from Uranus. I lol'd. A lot.
|
I recently watched both Death Note films. I enjoyed them, vastly more than I would have if I tried to sit through the entire anime I think. I never really got on the whole Death Note bandwagon, but I figured it was worth a look. I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't disappointed.
Ill probably watch L: Change the WorLd as well when I have some more time on my hands. |
So I finally saw Avatar. I didn't like it.
I know half of you are going to bitch and say that I didn't see it in 3d and blah blah blah, but I see movies for their fucking merit, not lame effects. Avatar was stupid. |
I haven't bothered and I probably never will.
|
In all honesty, Avatar isn't much to wow about, apart from the graphics I guess. Personally I really liked it as it's my kind of movie( i like cheesy flicks with sci-fi/fantasy elements and nice eye candy), but I think it'd be stupid to say that everyone has to like it. The story was rather simple, and not original. But I do think the story was ok anyway. I mean, it doesn't lie about humanity.
I'm happy about the graphics though. I used to really dislike 3D effects in movies because it was so evidently fake, and would have been much better with the use of puppets(For instance, the Alien movies used puppets and the effects are way better than many modern movies IMO). But after this movie, I have faith that using CG will not cheapen movies as much as it did in the past. I guess what I'm saying is you're not missing out by not watching Avatar, the story you can get from other movies, and really the graphics was the wow factor of the movie(which if pointless if you don't care about graphics). |

Saw The Hurt Locker, I liked it, but it wasn't deserving of best picture. |

Pussy is a fairly powerful mind control tool, yes.
|
Plus if you kick a man's balls he'll fall to the floor and cry...
|
doesn't that work either way?
|
You mean as dick being a good mind control weapon? Well, when your dicks as powerful and radiant as mine, yeah. Sure. But not normally, no.
|
Um yea... Anyway I watched "Keith" in the hopes of some lame, cheesy teen flick. But this movie was rather bizarre X_x I'm not quite sure what to think of it.
|
I didn't mind Avatar at all. It's not the most intelligent film ever written, but it's rewarding, feel-good, offers some very pretty battle scenes, and actually features nice realistic space travel.
Then again, I like showing my support for it due to all the internet people who seem to hate it because it's popular. Not you guys, but others. |
People say Obama hasn't changed anything. But look at the cast of the A-Team movie.
There's some change for your homeless, right there. Those ain't the lovable commandos whom I came to mildly enjoy watching in times of desperation. Not even close. |
I watched Braveheart for the first time in about fourteen years last night with my flat, took me a while to realize I was basically watching The Gospel According to Mark with added Scotland.
God knows how I didn't recognize that as a kid. |
:
You know, I did like watching the Banshees tearing the fuck out of the drop-ships and helicopter things. I was also pleased that whatshisface's legs actually seemed to atrophy over time. That was a nice touch. Some of the little things in the movie were nice. Still though, too much was dumb. |

Ha, you burned me.

Just seen the Ashes to Ashes finale. I got the jist of what was going on but I found pretty hard to follow. The alcohol probably didn't help, might try watch it again sober, see if it's clearer then.

Slumdog Millionaire, wow, oh my god what a suspenseful masterpiece of a movie!!
