Saw How to Train Your Dragon. I think it's one of Dreamwork's best so far.

Agreed; it was absolutely fantastic. Definately in the list of top three CG films I've seen.

But for some reason I can't buy the soundtrack album in Australia. That sucks major balls.

The news. Frankie Boyle is in trouble for making a joke about people with downs.

If the tour is called 'I would Happily Punch Every One of You in the Face', of course it's going to be just a tad offensive.

Taco 04-09-2010 04:08 AM

I just watched Annihilation Earth. It's like 2012, on a lower budget with worse acting, worse special effects and a plot that makes even less sense.

Sekto Springs 04-09-2010 08:03 AM

a plot that makes even less sense.
Than 2012? Impossible.

I thought he blew himself up. Hence why they seemed a lot like Muslims.

I'm pretty sure he blew himself up. I mean, he's an Arabic mythical creature. The fuck else would he do?

NO NO NO HE'S RIDING AROUND ON HIS SOCRPION PAL SHUT UP

Sekto Springs 04-09-2010 01:58 PM

I wouldn't be even a little surprised if they somehow re-packaged Clash of the Titans to be topical.

Emesdee 04-09-2010 08:08 PM

I read that as tropical, and remembered how they said they might want to do a franchise with this. Perseus Goes Hawaiian, coming 2012.

I am with Frankie Boyle here. I think it's silly that people don't realise that he's really poking fun at the "You can't say that! The audacity!" attitude that most of the current population have rather than actually attacking the person/people he's talking about.

OANST 04-10-2010 06:47 AM

I don't know who this guy is, but with a name like Frankie Boyle I can't imagine him ever doing anything good.

Josh 04-10-2010 07:05 AM

It's the bitches fault for talking during his show anyway.

This looks both incredible and terrible. Can't fucking wait.

OANST 04-10-2010 11:23 AM

I agree that it looks terrible.

Mac Sirloin 04-11-2010 05:06 AM

I'm really looking forwards to it, but that trailer wasn't very good.

shaman 04-11-2010 02:01 PM

Stallone is quite possibly my least favorite actor.

Alcar 04-11-2010 05:15 PM

Went to see Kick-Ass over the weekend. I quite enjoyed it :)

Alcar...

I've just watched Equilibrium, I don't why the fuck it failed so prematurely, i has a great story, acting.
I also watched the movie "Knowing" last week, at the begininng it seems thrilling, getting closer to the end it gets boring from being sad for apparently no fuckin' reason.

Sekto Springs 04-13-2010 01:01 PM

The director of Knowing had a few winners back in the day, namely The Crow and Dark City. Then he went on to direct I, Robot. Dunno what happened there.

OddjobAbe 04-17-2010 10:55 AM

I just watched Full Metal Jacket last night. I actually really enjoyed it. I've heard people say that it's brilliant, and thought that it might just be over-rated, but I was certainly wrong.

Sekto Springs 04-17-2010 04:53 PM

Saw How to Train your Dragon last night. I enjoyed it.
I also watched Shoot 'Em Up on tv today, enjoyed that too. It was so cheesy it was awesome.

Daxter King 04-18-2010 10:32 AM

Moon

Holy crap that was a good movie. I thought it had a bit of a slow start, and I accidentally read a spoiler online before I saw it though. Despite those two things, definitely one of 2009's best. Also, the score was simply amazing.

[I] Also, the score was simply amazing.

I should hope so. It was directed by David Bowie's son.

I also loved Moon, by the way.

OddjobAbe 04-20-2010 09:27 AM

I just received the box set of The Prisoner. It was a fucking great programme. It's such a shame Patrick McGoohan's dead.

T-nex 04-22-2010 12:30 PM

I just wanted to say that I just saw "Remember Me"... You know... That movie that people only watch cos they are twilight-fans and cos Robert Pattinson is in it(That's his name right?).

Anyway. It was probably one of the worst movies I've watched in a while. Not so much cos it sucked. It just didn't make any sense. The first half hour I was still debating with myself what the movie was the hell about. And all the scenes just seemed so random and shit. It was also quite predictable.

Specially a scene in the movie where they are on a train. The camera focuses on this creepy-looking brown guy who suspiciously stares at them. Then the next scene of of Robert(whoever his character was) finding his door open. He takes his bat and looks around the house. Who does he find standing there? The Brown guy? No. His new girlfriends dad!! .... The brown guy is never seen or heard of anymore. It really fucked my mind.

There's also the twist at the end. 9/11??? Come on... That just seemed so thrown in there. After all the fucked up shit that went on, things finally started picking up. Then the main character dies in the 9/11 incident. Even though that catastrophe had had nothing to do with the movie up until then. The director either ran out of filming time, or he just randomly decided to put in a twist. I dunno.

Meh. Oh and the movie theater was filled with girls only(of cours) and 2 guys who looked like they were going to sit through 2 hours of hell when they first came in. When the movie ended I could hear sniffling all over the place. X_x Me an my sister were close to having a laughing fit. Would have been quite inappropriate.

The guys looked like they were relieved that the movie ended at least.

I had a good, long, hard laugh at that.

That's when me and my sister started having trouble keeping in the laughter. She was desperately looking for outlets so she wouldn't burst out. X_x

Really. It was the lamest ending that anyone could have thought of. I mean... I thought of a similar ending for a story. But that was like in 5th grade.

OANST 04-22-2010 12:42 PM

You were in 5th grade when 9/11 happened? God, how old am I?

Grieva 04-22-2010 12:49 PM

How can something be random AND predictable? aren't they kind of mutually exclusive?

T-nex 04-22-2010 12:50 PM

No... I'm talking about the whole: Person goes through lots of hardships, then things seem to get brighter, then he randomly dies.
The teacher told me it was unnecessarily cruel. Oh well.

EDIT: Grieve... Much of it was predictable. Such as the main characters relationship with the girl, and their interaction. The things that weren't predictable just seemed random and out of place.

OANST 04-22-2010 12:54 PM

Your teacher is unnecessarily stupid. The 9/11 thing is probably what I would object to the least if I ever saw that film. Lives are interrupted by unexpected and tragic death every single day. Do you really think it's strange to write a story that contains this?

It just seemed very out of place. At no point was the movie about the 9/11 and nothing led up to it. It just happened at the end as a sort of "Uh oh, everything is not alright!!"

I feel it would have been better if he at least died in a car crash or something more natural like that.
I dunno. I guess with me it's kind of the same as product placements. If they are obvious and right in-your-face, they kind of shake me out of the movie-feel and I'm left feeling unattached.
I don't really think that the 9/11 incident is really old enough for it to have movies made about it. And if they absolutely feel the need to add it in the story, I think there should be a little more relevance than that.

Anyway, now I'm rambling :D Go eat cake.

I'm sure that it felt very out of place in the lives of the people who died there as well. At no point were their lives about 9/11. I think you're missing the point that unexpected death is typically unexpected.

Sounds like me and my friend Jordan.

We had to leave Clash of the Titans really fast because we were basically going "A BWAH HAW HAW HAW HAW! AHAHAHAHAHA! HAW HAHAHAHAW!" because we're douchebags and thought the way they farted the credits in was fucking hilarious.

Sekto Springs 04-22-2010 07:39 PM

Robert Pattinson is fuck ugly.

I know that that what it was supposed to be about. I mean... The girl even talked about how she enjoys desserts first cos she may not live through the end of the dinner course... But It was just not that well executed. It just didn't seem right and all that yada yada. I mean it's not just that scene. It's the whole movie.

But maybe it's also harder for us to relate to since we're not American or something.

But a film is trying to tell a story, not reflect everyday randomness. That sort of ending negates any sense of overall plot or narrative the film might have had.

Disgruntled Intern 04-22-2010 10:28 PM

Clash of the Titans remake. The 3d was bad. But we all know why. Watched the original just to make myself feel better.

MA 04-23-2010 04:59 AM

i watched The Fifteen Streets again, brilliant film. i love Geordies.
