I was originally really dubious when I saw the first couple of trailers, but I changed my tune after reading the synopsis. I was also a little pissed off, because I had a similar movie idea some years ago, but I'm 100% certain I never would have made it regardless so I'm glad somebody did.

The idea of the government housing all of the world's cliche horror monsters to be used for the exclusive purpose of being scary and evil is just such a great concept. Take a sledgehammer to the fourth wall, baby. I wouldn't be surprised if they had Slenderman somewhere down there too.

I'm watching The Wire. For some fuckduppled reason I skipped the 3rd season on my last go-through so I just finished reviewing some choice episodes in the 2nd.
Herc and Carver bickering about getting no respect from the detail but always being the ones out really stomping heads in and doing the grunt work is actually something I didn't pick up on before. Which is weird, because it's kind of an essential plot point, but I didn't really pay attention last time I guess.

The Wire is probably my all time favorite show. It's just too good.

I also saw Cabin in the Woods over the weekend. That was the most fun I've had in a theatre in I don't know how long. I actually went in knowing nothing more than people were raving about it, and that it was kind of a deconstruction of the "cabin in the woods" type films. I didn't even watch the trailer, and had no idea the sort of insanity that I was in for, especially in the third act.

It was great. I recommend it.

Anyone seen any of Christopher Morris' shows? News spoofs like The Day Today and Brass Eye? Nathan Barely is a brilliant series as well, though none of them are terrifically popular, i'd expect only Brits to know them, Chris Morris also did Four Lions though, funny as hell.

I fuckin' love Aaaahhh! Real Monsters! . Most things by Klasky Csupo were just fucking great. Not even in a "lol the 90s was teh best decade EVAR" way. They're just quality cartoons. Duckman is probably my most favorite thing they've done.
