Or maybe it was 'Alf's Assistant'. We haven't heard from him in a while.

oddguy 05-13-2004 06:59 PM

We haven't really 'heard' anything. I just see the guy browsing the forums in the shadows. Just watching, but never responding. Watching as all of us run around like insects with their heads cut off...scrambling around for info. He knows more than all of us, and he loves the power he holds. He takes a sip of his brew and gives a nice smirk. Then he just tilts his chair back and laughs. Laughs at our pointless theories...and almost as fast as it all started, he quickly vanishes, only to reappear at a later time to start it all over again.

Why are you all staring at me?

I think it'd be better if we don't start rumours about who it was. You know how these things go, some other website sees our rumours, they report them, it gets around, and someone gets hurt in the process.

Alcar...

you are probabaly right Alcar...

I almost forget aboit a new character, Pyro.

:

Q: Who is your favorite Oddworld character?
RN: This is really selfish but right now it's a character nicknamed "Pyro". It's purely cuz I got to make him up myself and I was able to give him a little bit of a "robot shine", which is sort of my personal mark in the game.

Is he that robot/ house thingy that was in the ploygon mag.

Sekto Springs 05-14-2004 03:18 PM

Notice he said "nicknamed" which means if his character was actually used-alot of revising and changing was probly made, including his 'nickname'. Plus, he said "robot shine" which is just a similiatic description.

Oddish 05-15-2004 01:22 AM

It could be a clue.

Nate 05-16-2004 12:46 PM

Nah, I reckon he was just being cruel, teasing our ignorance.

ps sligslinger what do you mean by "similiatic"?

It's another old word of the english language, I sometimes throw one in a post to sound poetic and smart. You're the first person who ever caught one I think. Good work ;)

Nate 05-19-2004 12:27 PM

Yeah, but what does it mean?

*thinks* That's just like me making up new Oddworld characters (which no one picked up on either).

oddguy 05-19-2004 02:03 PM

Can't seem to find the word on dictionary.com

Prehaps he made the word up.

Wil 05-22-2004 06:51 AM

It's not a word. SS clearly means to us it as some kind of adjective form of 'simile', but such a varient doesn't exist, especially not in older English. If such a term becomes accepted, it'd be completely neo-English.

But yes, I don't think 'Pyro' is actually a robot. For Munch's Oddysee, Sligs were, at one point, going to have Samurai-like glistenings to indicate their status at a distance. Possibly this characteristic was carried through, but I think it's as Raj himself says, it's just a style he uses.

My language teacher used to use the word alot back in 8th grade, so I guess he made it up.
