I'm afraid I can't recall whether or not other Clakkerz were clucking around in the distance, sorry :( |
Main complaint from me is the cutting out of voices, and audio. Not a major issue, just takes the shine off. EDIT: I've never heard another voice either which could be the cause - maybe it's too far to hear.
Don't see the issue with the save game 'progress' message. Once you know you can go through the saves one by one and the get the right information, it's not a problem. This version provides more information than the original so it's actually a better feature. |

I definately noticed it in New Yolk City, coz i needed to ask for info, and everytime i asked for info, they'd begin talking to me, then some stupid bitch chicken would interupt and be saying something to Mr Chicken like asking him what he wanted cooking for tonight's dinner.. something useless anyway..

I remember that if you listen to the Grubs long enough in the first Grub village you encounter after saving Eu Genius, (or however his name was spelled :/) you can hear them talking to you as if you're already a Steef (I mainly just remember them calling you "Steef Dude.") Has anyone noticed that in the HD version? I might post a video of that tomorrow if I must. :?

I think the more videos you post, the more we learn about the game.

Boo, game just froze up on me as I left the tunnel and camp area to arrive in Mongo Valley. Music was playing with a blank screen, had to switch off using the console off button.
EDIT: when I selected 'continue' the game continued at the start of mongo valley (with signs to New Yolk) after the rockfall. So I didn't get to see the cut scene before that. Not going so well with capturing the outlaws alive on hard. I think Packrat is possible because his stamina does not regenerate at the crazy rate the earlier ones do. However, I ran out of thudslugs which is a side effect of my ''no upgrades" run. |
The audio issues could actually be heard in the gameplay videos. I wanted to mention them but then I didn't. That happens to me a lot.

I still think JAW should hire Bodd T.W. as a beta tester. I wonder if it's possible to do that job remotely.

Strangers Wrath HD thoughts....AMAZING! 9.5/10. I've never played Strangers Wrath only played AO and AE on playstation so was buzzing on it arriving on PSN.
First started to play it thought sigh this is gonna be not worth the wait with the tutorial start. But that is a stupid and naive thought looking back. Game is brillant. (I haven't completed it fully, I've just left the first town and met the doctor and took out the bounty on the shotgun guy shooting the town up.) The world is so much cooler than AO and AE, due to its big open world. I'm not a big fan of gaming music but its really cool. To me its a must buy brilliant definatley worth the wait. It's like Spyro meets Assassins creed, both brilliant games as is this. Really excited for MO HD for PSN. :D P.S How do you capture a boss alive because I take as much health as I can away from the boss then try to capture alive but they just shoot like normal and break free from the web and then I shoot them once more or so and they are dead. Only been able to capture 3/5 bosses but the other 2 were the later ones. Cheers |
Bolamites only work on 2 bosses (and the very first one). For the rest, you have to run the stamina bar down quicker than the health bar.
I won't spoil it by telling you which weapons are the best for that. |
Idk if this is anything remotely official but nevertheless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4cbXtFF-J8&feature=pyv
6:30 - SW ad thingy. |

Here's what I was talking about with the Grubs calling you "Steef Dude," plus another little thing where Stranger automatically talks in a location that you can't normally reach in the game:

Can you not...ask them to take down the video for the whole EA+giant spoiler problem?
|
It's not going to mean anything to anyone who hasn't played the game before. It'll just be a random collection of phonemes that they forget straight away.
It's more important that there are promotional videos up that get people interested than that there's a tiny risk of spoiling a twist. |
GAME IS OUT. I AM HAPPY
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY |
That's nothing. I remember when Lorne Lanning spoiled the same twist in the game in a making-of tv documentary expertly timed to air like 2 years before the game came out. he even showed pictures and stuff!
|
I just got SW HD today! I've only played to the fight against Boils Booty. The graphics are amazing! Aswell as the framerate! The only issue I've noticed is the sound cutting out, and not playing the full track. Not a big a issue, but it does kinda hurt the imersemnet. Nothing to bad. Anyways, I'm happy and excellent work JAW!

The Grubb populace were aware that Stranger's a steef, or at least had speculations. After all, they saved his clothing and weaponry from D. Caste Raider's lynching. He wasn't THEIR old steef and sure there's doubts regarding whether he's a REAL steef (''he's a bit scrawny for a steef don't'cha think?''), but they clearly have that speculative notion that he may be one, and one capable of saving their society. That's my reading of the narrative, so I don't see it as a bug. I thought it was a nice nod to the future events. There are other instances of this happening, like the gameplay-changing teaser you see early on in the general store with the fortune telling device. |
I was just meaning that the Grubs kinda ruin the story for you. You would eventually hear about steefs in the Buzzarton cutscene, and you already heard that you are a steef, so you can somewhat predict the future events of the game from there; thus, the climax to the game is ruined because you listened to these Grubs, and you don't experience the story as you should have. See what I mean?

My PSN account is being a butt. It says all my credit cards are invalid, but they're totally valid. Bah.
|
I will definately buy this in the next coming days, when I'll have some time to actually play it. Any idea when the patch is coming out?
|
But... if someone has never played the game before, how will they know what a Steef is? They might just assume a Steef is a cat-person like Stranger.
|
As great a twist as it is, I do find it difficult to believe that there's anyone out there who couldn't figure out that Stranger is a Steef by at least the Cut Scene video, given that his facial features are exactly the same.
