haha, did anyone watch the whole thing?
Is that at all relevant?
Nope and nope.
Its not really a spot as such but.
Does anyone remember the Clank Missions on Ratchet & Clank? Clank had commands like Follow me, Wait and Attack for the Micro-bots I always thought that was inspired by Abe's Oddysee/Abe's Exoddus. |
I remember them. They could follow, wait, enter and attack or something, right?
It did remind me of abe a little, that part. |
One night I ventured outside and I noticed this big, glowing orb in the sky, surrounded by glowing dots, and I thought, "hey, this kind of reminds me of playing through The Stockyards in Abe's Oddysee!" Do you think the moon and stars were inspired by Oddworld?

Actually, I agree with him fully and think he's pretty funny.

Yeah, Dipstikk is great. Fuck off, crashpunk.

I always like how the Shrink from the AO teaser was a machine. A Very Disturbed Machine.
and a very disturbing teaser lol.

Oddworld Fart in Family Guy
In the Family Guy episode, Stew-Roids, there's a scene where Peter makes Stewie watch Spike TV to make Stewie more manly. One of the sound effects used in the background for the Spike TV sequence about men stuff is the distinct Oddworld "Fart" sound effect.
http://familyguy.wikia.com/wiki/Stew-Roids Here's the link. You guys should be able to notice it easily :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIAeMOPMsY4 |
Both Family Guy and OWI probably got the fart off the same sound effect CD.
I kinda want to figure out where OWI gets all their sound effects.
This part isn't really a reference to Oddworld but, the Prophets in the Halo games look a bit like the Mudokons except with brown skin, fancy clothes, and facial hair. This picture of a hologram of the Prophet of Mercy kinda looks like one of the three spirits. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...ethalowars.JPG |
You really are trying to hard...
Anyone else think that any industrial factory looks remotely like any oddworld factory? I do
I once saw a tree that looks like an Oddworld tree.
Part of the intro music from AO is incorporated into the soundtrack of Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, which was an RTS type game. I've searched online but can't find it to post :( but if anyone has the game then it's worth checking out. It's in the first level of the game.
In the movie "Daybreakers", there's a scene where there are two mutated vampire things charging at each other under a subway station. If you listen closely, they use the same sound as a Scrab when it "barks". Can't find a clip of it though.
I know that bit, agreed. Good film to!
Ok, so here's the thing. I just started in a new school and we got some of our schoolbooks already and I noticed a cool thing when I checked them. Look at this:
(I wont start translating them right now but it's a Finnish article of Stranger's Wrath. In a schoolbook. ...I know. Wut.) |
What the hell is the subject? Because I once found Hand of Odd in my geology textbook.

I found OWI logo in my maths text book...

Ill try get it back, It was last year text book, if I find it, I will get the "evidence"...
In Call of Duty: World at War's Zombie map 'Shi No Numa', you can hear the same bird sound from Oddworld games. (Or at least a very similar sound.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsi8rToAzPU At around 0:35. |
This is F**ked up, When I first watched it, I was like bullshit, then, Wait it is...
Okay. I know I started the whole finding oddworld sounds in other stuff but that really isn't oddworld spotting.
they got the same sound of the same CD which Nate pointed out in a post. |
