What would be the point of releasing the screenplay before the movie is releasd? Especially from the company who revealed virtually nothing about SW until very recently.

There was that Discovery channel special a while back revealing quite a bit about SW.

I want to see that screenplay only AFTER the release of the film.

I think that Oddworld Inhabitants would do a fantastic film on thier own, but unfortunately, with it not being the most popular or games, they would have to have either a really famous producer, Director, or Publisher for it to actually make reasonable money.

Or they could hire a talented writer.

But most people who aren't fans will probably only go to see it if it has a good company name on it or famous stars.

But an oddworld movie would be 3D wouldn't it?.

OWI make games not movies they'll have to get help somewhere along the lines, Halo movie has done that too.

Please, let only OWI do this movie, and like Xavier said, no extern help. A game with a good story line, is just like a movie, only for a movie you have to make the whole story by yourself, and nothing more. So you can also concentrate on that only. I think OWI can be very good at making movies. And it is not that they have to do it alone, but the can ask advise from people who did such movies before.

I never said I didn't agree with Xavier, but's that's what would probably happen to get good marketing.

I have to agree with Fuzzle Guy on this. I think having help would help OWI make more money from the movie and attract more viewers. Although we all can agree that it would be awesome if OWI did the movie by themselves, people who are not fans of Oddworld and/or haven't really heard of the franchise will honestly not care about the movie, at least that's what I think. But if they have help from big name companies (which I doubt that OWI will get help from them anyway-I'm sure they want to do this project alone), then that will get the attention of the people who didn't care about it before. ;) This is only my opinion about it.

Actually, if my memory serves me, The Quintology were going to be movies in the first place. Lorne and Sherry worked in the movie business in the first place and why shouldn't they take Oddworld there too? I am extremely confident that the folks at OWI could make a movie, and a pretty dang good one too. As for the Halo movie, the story plays such a tiny part in what you do in the game, they'd need some help to pull together something suitable for a movie.

I think that they should do their movies by themselves, 100%. Although external help from a famous company etc. would gain publicity, Oddworld is OWI's creation and I think that they should be in charge completely and get recognition for themselves.

A simple way to solve the problem of not doing well at the box office:
Do the same as what Pixar do, get a famous company, such as Disney, New Line, WB, 20th Century Fox etc to 'Present' it. Everything would be done by OWI, but money would be pumped into by another company, and the other company would market the film and distribute it.
Oh, exactly the same as EA does for their games....

Of course OWI could do it. It doesn't need stars to do well, it needs marketing. And possibly good reviews.

No the halo movie bungie are making they have hired the writer who done the script for 28 days to help with the script this is what I suspect OWI will do.

This is not what I meant, I know Oddworld are 100% capable of making th eir own movie, but people who arent fans of the game, will look at this movie, not any any Idea what it is, and probably. not watch it, If it had stars, or a good company name on it (Dreamsworks SKG, Universal, Disney (Preferably not)) then people might go and see it.
