I watched some old-ish animes. And by some I mean two.
Berserk and Akira. Akira had surprisingly incredible graphics and detail. The animation was so smooth and fluent, it was really satisfying. The story was very misleading. Tetsuo gradually takes over Kaneda's role of the main character and villian. It was cool watching him destroy shit, but other than that, it was pretty hard to follow the messed up story. There were bits and pieces everywhere and a lot of stuff they didn't explain from the manga. Berserk's animation is a bit half-asked and half baked. It's storyline is what makes it great though. It's simply amazing. The characters are very likeable and you get to know each and every one of them over to 25 episodes. I've only watched 19 so far though. I'd recommend these 2 animes for anyone looking. |
:
Also, read the Berserk manga. Miura is a fucking incredible artist and it's an extremely engrossing, ongoing epic of a series. Berserk is my favourite anime or manga or whatever. Also, they're working on a movie series to cover EVERYTHING that's happened in said Manga, which is a whole fucking lot. So keep your ear to the ground for that. |
Saw Attack the Block and oh my god it was amazing. I thought I really wouldn't like it but I was so wrong. It's so funny in parts and the design of the aliens were really cool.

I watched The Infidel, a movie where a Muslim finds out that he's actually Jewish, with my dad yesterday. I thought it was really funny.
|
I watched Hayate no Gotoku: Heaven is a Place on Earth. It's a standalone film for a long-running manga series I'm a fan off. It wasn't cluttered or nonsensical or anything, just a really nice film. Relaxing, even.
|
I never thought that anime and manga could be relaxing, but maybe thats because I watch too much Fist of the North Star.
|
Found season 3 of The Simpsons for $10 at a pawn shop. Been watching that lately. It's probably one of the weaker seasons of the glory days, but it's still very, very good. Some of my favourite episodes are on it, too. And who could forget about the Land of Chocolate?
Also got the first season of My Name is Earl on DVD for trading a few old N64 games. Great series until it started getting overly dumb. |
Loads of (brand) new Dr Who DVD's for trading in old PSP games! :tard:
|
watched Sorority Row. what a stupid pile of wannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnk. i can't stress that enough. just watch it so you can join me in knowing how fucking shit it is. oh god just watch it. you will be amazed by it's mediocrity. it's not even mediocre, it's just fucking OH JUST WATCH IT
|
No way anyone could make me watch that pile of shit ever again. Serious contendor for worst horror movie. It's not even bad in a good way, like so many others. It's just downright bad.
|
First ep of the second season of Game of Thrones.
Back to business. So much sex and violence, seriously. |

I just feel the need to update everybody on every growth of the "Meech&Ghost" section of this horrible, horrible Venn diagram. |

I thought My Name is Earl was overly dumb from the beginning.
|
Oh... I always liked it. Thought it was a funny show with some really good writing.
It got stupid later on, but I find the first season really great. I also got it with 3 vinyl records, so it was worth trading the N64 games for it. |

Don't even compare it to current Family Guy, that shit's awful.
The first 3 Family Guy seasons are pretty great though. FUCK THE HATERS |
Family guys written by a bunch of Manatees. ;)

Whereas southparks still going strong. In fact, the past few seasons of south park have been the best. And at the moment, American Dad is much better than family guy (since season 5).
|
That's probably because it's newer. They haven't exhausted the fairly shallow characters yet.
|
At least theyre still the same characters! Ever since about season 3 of family guy, the characters changed dramatically every season.
|
I wouldn't say South Park is still going strong. I find most of the newer episodes very bland and forgettable, really. It's been that way since around season 10.

Medicinal Fried Chicken was great. Most of the others didn't really do much for me, including the Coon saga. That could've been a lot shorter.
I dunno, I don't know the South Park series off the top of my head, maybe it started getting a little lame after that. All I know is that since Season 10 it just hasn't been the same for me. |
Went to the premiere of Iron Sky with my dad a few hours ago. I thought it was pretty good, didn't take itself too seriously and had some jokes that had me in stitches. Great special effects too, no wonder it took 6 years to make it. The ending was a bit stupid, left some questions unanswered. And Julia Dietze is so hot as a nazigirl. So so hot.
|
I hated the Coon Saga.
As I said before, South Park is good but not great. Something to put on in the background while you're cooking dinner that you can tune in and out of for a cheap laugh while you sauté onions. I was actually looking forward to Matt and Trey deconstructing the series after the psuedo "conclusion" where Stan became a pessimist. I was kind of disappointed when I found out it had been renewed. |
I saw the new Muppets movie.
Yeah, it was alright. I liked "travelling by map". I was expecting the classic, showbiz humour of the old Muppet Show. They'd modernised it a bit, so instead of that they had cutaway gags and a lot of fourth-wall jokes. But it was still worth watching. I laughed. |
In other words, it was like all the other movies, just better.
|
A Muppet Christmas Carol would like to see you.
|
A Muppet Christmas Carol was not as good as The Muppets.
|
Never seen it. I also liked The Muppets Take Manhattan.
I saw another trailer for The Lorax while I was at the cinema. The girl looks like a composite of pretty much every girl I've had a crush on. It was a really awkward feeling, especially since I was sat next to my mum. |

|
Oh, you mean The Muppet Show. Yeah, they suited a weekly show better. Guest stars and whatnot.
|
No, I meant the movie: The Muppets.
Of course, the show was better than all the movies. |
Duhhh... Oh yeah. I actually forgot that they hadn't bothered to come up with a new title.
And no. No, no, no. There is no way on God's green earth that The Muppets is better than Christmas Carol. Maybe it's different in the US. |
Yeah. We know how to perceive correctly.
