Must be me but I can't stand it, boring as hell after the first run through, but then the music isn't to my liking either, I don't like the guys voice. Before you all shit down my neck, it's my opinion.

MA 01-13-2012 10:25 AM

i actually don't like The Snowman either. it irritates me for some reason.

MeechMunchie 01-13-2012 11:05 AM

Because it's happy (minus the ending)?

Sekto Springs 01-13-2012 11:40 AM

It's not that. It's that they're both just humongous faggots.

STM 01-13-2012 12:08 PM

Takes one to know one babe.

Sekto Springs 01-13-2012 01:12 PM

No it doesn't.

MeechMunchie 01-13-2012 01:17 PM

And with that seemingly innocuous statement, Scrabtrapman made the first vital leap into uncovering a massive secret conspiracy among zoologists and vetinarians worldwide.

it's because i'm not an elitist prick that just brushes off other peoples views i disagree with with an asinine comment. i think the film is a complete and utter crock of shit that i wouldn't sit my dog down to watch, never mind an actual human being.

Sekto Springs 01-13-2012 05:15 PM

I wasn't being serious. I couldn't give less of a fuck about what any of you like or don't like.

Mac Sirloin 01-13-2012 05:35 PM

Santa Baby was the real Miracle this Christmas.

Sekto Springs 01-13-2012 05:46 PM

DEM ELVES ARE SO FUNNI.

MA 01-13-2012 06:01 PM

watched Merrill's Marauders. didn't enjoy it. no sir.

STM 01-14-2012 06:08 AM

Sat down and watched some of the Facejacker's again, hilarious the first time, but after watching them three times now, I think I've killed them.

Dynamithix 01-14-2012 06:21 AM

I've been watching the American version of Dragon's Den, Sharktank. I don't know why but I really like the show. It's interesting to see which deals get accepted and such. I wonder how many versions of the show there are, there was even one in Finland, was called Leijonan Kita (Lion's... mouth?).

Crashpunk 01-14-2012 07:25 AM

I have seen the Irish version on Dave, It's more or less the same show.

AlexFili 01-14-2012 07:40 AM

Saw a couple of films over the past 48 hours. The One, Labyrinth, Titan AE. The latter two are cult classics and pretty popular.

OddjobAbe 01-14-2012 10:43 AM

Nuts in May again. Fantastic.

MeechMunchie 01-14-2012 12:15 PM

That's got to be the most low-key film I've ever seen.

OddjobAbe 01-14-2012 12:55 PM

It's got to be the most low-key film I've seen repeatedly. It has to be one of my favourites, it's fucking excellent.

Dynamithix 01-14-2012 02:15 PM

I saw Cradle of Fear. I liked it even though it was a huge mess of bad sound effects and hilarious deaths. It was pretty disturbing at some points, but yeah, it was definitely an... experience. Weird how they used a lot of psychedelic music in it rather than their own stuff. (Well, I think they had some of their songs on there, but not many.)

The new Sherlock Holmes movie. A Game of Shadows or something.

I really enjoyed it. Everything was really well done. It was very fast-paced, but on reflection there were alarmingly few action sequences. The conversation was easy to absorb, but still entertaining and amusing. The film flew by really quickly and there were no moments where I felt it dragged.

The action sequences were really tastefully done. Holmes' planning is a really nice touch. The big chase scene at Dr. Watson's stag party was absolutely ridiculous and very fun. There was a very well done scene which comprises of the main characters running away from the baddies shooting at them. Time slows down as bullets hit nearby trees, then speeds up again only to jump to another dramatic moment. I felt that this scene was exactly the right length - any longer and it would have been tacky and overdone.

It was a really enjoyable movie. It wasn't without a few flaws, but I recommend this glowingly. It's easily the best movie I've seen all year.

You're kidding me. That film was all action scenes, not enough mystery. And that scene with the main characters running away from the baddies shooting at them went on fooooorever.

It's like they took the few really good, short moments from the first Sherlock Holmes movie and decided to stretch them out to an entire film. I'm not saying that it was bad, just that it turned in to a generic Victorian-era action film, rather than Sherlock Fucking Holmes. There wasn't even much of a mystery, given that we knew who the bad guy was from the beginning and what he was doing from not that much later. Only the last ten minutes made the entire film worthwhile.

Those are some great opinions.

Maybe I've just been watching too much of The A-Team lately.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I haven't actually read any of the books or seen any other media relating to Holmes.

Did anyone see that Three Musketeers movie? The trailers wreaked of Hollywood decay.

Manco 01-15-2012 11:28 AM

I watched Limitless last night. Movie about a guy who takes a drug which opens up all of the brain’s synapses and shit (yeah, not the most realistic movie but hey). Unfortunately, his newfound superbrain has its limitations, and on top of that he ends up getting chased down by some unsrcupulous fellows who want the drug from him.

Pretty good thriller movie, fast-paced and enough mystery to keep you guessing as to what will happen next.

MeechMunchie 01-15-2012 01:43 PM

The Unknown.

It was predictably average.

The one with John Malkovich and NeoLardo Decrapio?

Sekto Springs 01-15-2012 09:15 PM

No.

Not only did that come out of no where, but it also looked fucking terrible. Im fairly sure it bombed and I'm glad it did.

I saw Tower Heist, it was funny enough for two dollars.
