I believe the forums should be just fine concerning new members.

I have to admit, this forum is pretty intimidating. (But then I'm also a lurking wuss :P)
But it's not nearly as bad as another forum I was on, where the mod/admin team would openly grill... well, pretty much anyone, but especially new members. And no one was a fan of the game the forums were made to discuss any more - Oddworld actually still gets enjoyed and discussed here, even with such a big gap in releases.
So it's not nearly as scary, seeing as you actually come here and see "yea, we like Oddworld" instead of "what? no, we stopped caring a few years back". That's the first thing enthusiastic greens will notice...

Idiots tend to leave of their own accord whether you actively chide them or not. And if they don't, they eventually learn. Or provide an impolite giggle or two at least.

Of course, I'm also generally very optimistic at first. =p

Nah lol :p ... I actually like you... I think you were a little annoying at first. But trust me... it's nothing bad. I was annoying for years before I learned. I joined OWF as soon as I joined the internet. So I knew nothing about netiquette. I still laugh when I read my old posts.

I still find CP annoying at times, such as when his posts take me twice as long to make sense of as they should because of spelling errors.

I type really quickly, sometimes I can miss spell something and forget to edit it. Also sentence structure is something i'm not that good at anyway, I struggle to word my sentences in general, not just on the Forum. Its just something I lack I guess...

I know I used to be a little twat as well. I probably still am. But I also like to think I've grown up and learned a lot from my time here.

We're a very growy up forum. Lots of our members have grown up here.

It's why we're so homosexual and stuff.

The term should really be 'grow upy', or preferably 'growy-uppy'.

I wouldn't say this place has made me more mature, but I've heard a lot of different opinions on a lot of different subjects, which is always good.

I have matured a lot since I joined, I think, but I'm not sure if OWF is responsible for that.

It'll probably be partly responsible.

It helped me become a more moderate Christian, which is pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure social media and the bulk of OWF regulars having a 'friendship circle' will keep us all in touch for quite a long time.

By some divine providence we ended up with an awful lot of nutters here. Nutters tend to stick in one's mind. So yes, I'm certain that we will remember each other for longer than the average faceless forumite.

I'm pretty sure there are some things in the forums that have scarred me for life.

As of late these forums seem to have gone down hill a bit; a contributing factor, no doubt, OANST's diminishment. I remember a time where these forums didn't have to continuously resort to repeating an old conversations to be humourous.

Also, Chrome doesn't think diminishment or humourous are words - even though I got my spell checker set to English (UK).

I think things are just going as they were, granted it's no comedy club but we're such a tightly knit bunch that it's not like you log on and are bored stiff. If you have a problem MoxCo, if it's so boring for you, go to comedy clubs and become the next funny guy.

Meh. OWF has ups and downs like any other place. Sometimes some people find it fun, and then it shifts around and other people find it fun. But it's no doubt that in general, this is an interesting place.

Erm yes I agree this place is really fucking funny and entertaining sometimes but at other times, it gets pretty boring. But I'm really a huge fan of all the new meme's we've been getting in the last few weeks. They really make me laugh :tard:
