Well, I just saw it as being "ages away" so I just totally forgot about it. That's the problem with extremely long deadlines. You kinda just forget.

Will more more time help people? Otherwise the competition simply isn't going to happen.

I should have a submitable piece by the end of tomorrow. Although more time wouldn't be frowned upon :p. If I wasn't so idiotic and left it till late I would have finished it ages ago instead of rushing around. I'm gonna try and pretend there is no more time if you add some, otherwise i'll probably leave it till later again.

Well you can a have a few more days if you have something nearly done. I have but two questions;
First, is it worth me running an art competition again next year?
And if I do, how can I make people pay attention to the deadline?

Who knows maybe they'll be a rush of new members...
But giving this one if there's still only two entries so far mine would make three I wouldn't think so if next year will be the same maybe a vote closer to the time to see who will take part.

I have one idea, but with so few people around I don't know if it world work:

Maybe hold some mini friendly competitions art or otherwise with deadlines set in stone about 1-2 weeks after it starts and then give a week for public voting. Leave proper judging for competitions such as this one.

Ignore this it's my own fault I didn't finish it earlier.
On that note I should really get back to my entry.

I personally think that the deadline was way too long. You gotta keep it short or attentions will waver. There are lots of people here who like artwork. There must be a reason why they didn't want to compete.

I'd say just give everyone a week after the first entry comes in. The only thing that motivates people more than pressure is uncertainty.
