okay thanks for the tip ;)

some unseen oddworld pictures? now you'r talking.
you are thus sure they aren't on togg :D

Wil 01-03-2006 12:12 PM

Presumably it's only worth 30 dollars if you're into the entire video game art scene. For those of us only interested in the Oddworldy bits, perhaps it'd be too much, unless you're cullen.

Oh, great:rolleyes:
What is SO WRONG about buying a book with my favorite characters in it?

Kimon 01-03-2006 01:45 PM

No prob, Xav. There is a graphic display of the Stranger, along with the aforementioned Abe concepts. There's probably some other stuff as well.

Myes indeedy.

That's not the problem, the problem is that you want to buy it because your favorite character is in it. Winky face.

mmmmmmmmm..... I would just buy the Art Of Oddworld book because that has loads of Art work of Oddworld but this book sounds cool and has unseen art but I wouldn't buy it.

To be honest, there's nothing wrong with it from an objective viewpoint. People may argue that you're letting your fanaticism blind you from the price you would be willing to pay for an entire publication you would only enjoy a small part of of, but that's just them applying their own priorities and values to you. If you think it's worth it, then for you it is. Hell, it wouldn't be the first time an Oddworld fan has spent unreasonable amounts of money on something of fairly little importance. :p Then there's the pragmatic point that you only have a limited amount of money, so you have to be sure you can spend it on the things you think are worth it.

Forgive me, I've just been revising for my Critical Thinking retake; I'm in the mood to analyse.

Cullen Heath 01-03-2006 04:38 PM

Yeah, that would worth it to me for sure.
A few nice pieces of art and maybe some interviews and articles on Oddworld, hell yes it's worth 20 bucks to me.

It's 30 bucks I think. And there aren't any interviews or articles. EEK!

Ne'er thee mind about the price. The savings, the savings!!!

Cullen Heath 01-03-2006 04:43 PM

Well, still. I can come up with another 10 dollars.
Someone said that there was a few pages of Oddworld. This MUST involve some kind of writing.

Kimon 01-03-2006 04:49 PM

Not really, as far as I can tell. There's some captions under the pictures, and a mention of the games, such as "games like Oddworld were very goood because...", but other than that, not much.

Cullen Heath 01-03-2006 06:08 PM

Hmm. Well does it have any unseen or rare artwork?

Xavier 01-04-2006 12:59 AM

I'm going to buy it... I totally love videogame art.
and even more if there's unseen oddworld artwork in it :D

Nate 01-04-2006 11:52 AM

:

There are more than a few pages covering Oddworld, several with previously unseen concepts (at least for me).

Can you describe these pictures? Have you got the Art of Oddworld book to compare whether the images are also in there?

And on another note; Barnes and Noble cancelled the order. I may get around to ordering one in myself but it may take some time.

Xavier 01-04-2006 12:11 PM

just ordered it via amazon, along with the spectrum 12...
hopefully some nice oddworldian stuff will be in it.
