*Looks at own previous post abot LOTR*
Ah, yeah. Just what I said... (Sorry, just a touchy subject, OW: S. The thought of someone playing it sickens me. *Eyes twitch* Aint I just selfish? :p) Speaking of which, isn't Hand Of Odd the fifth game? |
isint this a little off topic
hand of odd was halted the start of 2004 as far as i know it was about a third done and through several new articles i found it seems that A. they ARE working on it... just very very slowly and B. once they find a good format for the games HUD and when they work out which consle to make it for they will start working full force on it |
evil1, that is most definitely a non sequitor, but I am intrigued by what you say. Do you have any proof or evidence at hand, i.e. would you point everyone towards one or more of these articles?

I read a small article in one of my gaming magazines about the strategy Publishers use in releasing their games at different times.
It's one of the reasons why there are NTSC (?) and PAL versions - so the publishers can control the release in respective countrise. If everyone had the same version, then people could import. I don't know why they want separate releases. probably so their marketing teams are over-stretched. One could argue, though, that they should have individual marketing teams in each country... |
I would think that there are seperate NTSC and PAL versions because the TVs work differently in different countries. And that is partly because the US has a 60Hz electrical supply whilst Europe and Australia has 50Hz. Thus they must tweak the animations and whatnot to appear at a different framerate.

I just rented it.
So far it's pretty good, I love the style. My only gripe so far is that I want more story upfront in the beginning - I want to visit the doctor, not catch all these guys! |
That is one purdy game.
Pros: (there were more but I had to delete them 'cos of spoilers) Looks very nice, especially plants and flowers and whatnot. Chippunkz are cool and funny, not near as irritating as I thought they would be. There's lots of variety in the levels so far. Cons: Stranger moves like crap when he's swimming or jumping. There doesn't seem to be any repercussions if I harrass the Clukkers, they just forget about it straight away. That said, I haven't got very far in yet. It's HARD. Particularly for someone who's crap at FPSs. Bosses are particularly tough, trying to bring them in without killing them. I've only captured one (out of three) alive so far. |
Damn nabbit! Damn that nabbit to hell! I must wait another week, and everyone else has the game available in schtores. New Zealand sucks for sure, and I cannot be convinced otherwise.
No repercussions, you say, NDW? Damn. That was the one thing I hoped for/ expected. Oh well. Happy gaming, people. :) |
"Stranger moves like crap when he's swimming or jumping."
Without revealing anything, there is a pretty legit reason for why he moves like crap when swimming or jumping. And, yes, it does get better as you go along. |

But then, can you pay just pay a fine, and they will act like nothing happened? Pay a fine/ do something to redeem yourself?
