As though the amount of friends you have is some sort of barometer for how much us "loners" should look up to you.
I didn't mean that, but since you mention it we can begin such a thing. Yes. Yes we can.

:

Get you head out of your ass.
But its so nice up there. So nice and popular...yeh.

:

I'm sure everyone really gets a good impression when they see you using someone just to get into a bar.
Oh, no. You see they don't know. Because then thats just silly. They only find out if i find someone i actually like. For instance, fat guy i had a fling with only found out i was using him [he did speculate with friends but i told him i loved him...so funny...but also so different story] after i met my now bestfriend Dani. And then it all came out. With much snideness on my part.

:

Aren't you old enough to walk into one yourself?
Well, in all England alkohol places you have to be 18. But the club in question you had to have a member to get you in. And he was the member. So thus - i got in.

:

If not grow up - please, for the sake of humanity grow up!
I will take your advice and i will begin growing up...now. Phew, to think if it wasn't for you telling me i would have stayed 17 for the rest of my life!! Wacky.

:

Truth be told I don't care how many friends someone has.
This isn't the point. My point was that people won't make friends with somebody they percieve to be a loser. That was my point.

:

Why spend your whole life making friends with people you don't even like just to get "certain social advantages"? It makes no sense at all.
I'm shallow and manipulative and also immensly insecure. Its my thing. Aren't i allowed to have a thing?! God, even Geeks have things...

Good friends of mine:
1. Abe's Son (James)
2. Ashton
3.Tommy
4. Joey
5. Max

I'm pretty high in that rank.

He has a point, Death. He's trying to point out that most people don't want to be associated with losers. Even losers don't want to be associated with losers :p

God I love the American / English Schooling system :p

It depends on the person's definition of a loser and on what criteria a person judges someone to determine whether or not they are a loser. There isn't a universal definition of a loser. Also people could be a loser one moment, a cool guy the next, then back to being a loser a few hours later. I mean say a programmer is at home writing software in his underwear. He is alone and has been for half a day as he stares at pixels on a screen. He is a loser. But then he goes to a party, gets drunk, has some casual sex and wakes up the next morning with a hangover in his friend's bathroom. Now he's a party animal. Ok that wasn't the best example, but I couldn't think of anything else.

Am I a loner? No. Am I a shut-in? 50-70% of the time. But that's because I'm 14 and can't really go to many places (I don't have the means to get their, don't have the money etc.) So I'm usually at home drawing, on the computer, on the XBox or playing cello. Right now, drawing makes up about 70% of that time.

However, I'm not a loner. I am in several orchestras (most at my school and one of them the SBS Youth Orchestra) and musical ensembles, I do go to friends' houses/ watch movies with friends and I do go to parties (though not super cool alchohol parties- only 2 more years :) ). I have a lot of friends and I meet a lot of people as well.

Not true, when I was fourteen I was going out with my friends most weekends, as I do now. We would just hangout around town, and go into shops and not buy anything. We would usually start by biking to a friend of choices, house, collects some more, and then walk into town. It's easy. And for only easy five payments of $99.99!

CarboN 12-17-2003 04:40 PM

Am I a loser? Nope.
Am I a loner? Oh yes yes yes.
Well I hav friends but I still sometimes feel really lonely.
My socializing skills dropped down to zero when I came to the 8th grade, I don't know how or why but they just did.:fuzzle:

Sekto Springs 07-03-2004 04:48 PM

Yes, I'm a shut in loner. I have a few friends, but I wish I didn't, they just get in the way of my life. Sammy is a different story because she makes my life.

shut in loner? me?...........no

The Red Muse 07-03-2004 10:34 PM

Wowness. This topic is OLD!

I mean..really old.

Or maybe it's not that old... but it's still old.

You get my point here?

the brew master 07-03-2004 10:37 PM

yeah..........

Fez 07-03-2004 10:53 PM

Very nice Henna.......

No, I am not a shut in loner. I go to see my mates often, go airsofting whenever I can, and just spend alot of days coming home late.

Coiled Ice 07-03-2004 11:40 PM

I'm not really shut-in... unless I'm feeling depressed, then I usually feel shitty at my friends and don't want to do anything with them. I usually just say in my room and listen to music, then... But then other times, I feel like going everywhere... So yeah...

ClaireBear 07-04-2004 09:50 PM

Me?.... *Is now the time for full on honesty?... CB wonders*

I'm not a complete loner but I don't have many "friends" lots of people I socialise with and commrades... but not full on mates!

My sister is my best friend... and anyone I date first and foremost has to be a good friend before anything else.

I'm out more than I'm in... clubbing, pubbing, cinema etc but again the people I'm out with aren't my best friends!

Shinjara 07-04-2004 10:35 PM

It's about half-half for me.

Since dropping out of 6th form, I've been spending alot more time in but I still go to work, meet up with friends & go stay with my boyfriend for a few days. I'm not a loner though (i love to see my friends) but I do enjoy to sit on my backside doing nothing, 'cause I'm a chilled out person.

So yeah.. half-half.

I feel your pain. Every time I leave my house, it's as if I've given up my right to be left alone or treated with respect. They think my difference from them is an excuse to "comment" as if I were on display for them. Like I'm the way I am because I want the incessant gawking of strangers. Bastards.

Me?....

I always find it funny when people start a post with "what, me?", even though the question was aimed at everyone.

How's about this: No, not you. **** off. :D

oddguy 07-05-2004 08:08 PM

There goes the wedding! Darn...I though Cb and Codek were meant for each other! :crying:

I never saw it coming. It wouldn't work out anyway, they have very little in common except maybe kick-ass yet burnback comments.

And CB's "burnback comments" are easily dodged, deflected, and even counter-acted.

To be honest I think people only ever saw us as a couple because when I make a comment and CB replies, she usually responds with playfighting/arguing.

Facsimile 07-05-2004 11:59 PM

I thought it was because you are always arguing.

It wasn't intended in that vain... merely a kind of "I'm pondering my answer" exclamation... for comic effect (obviously lost on some people!)

Can't we all juuust get along?

Whats up De... errr... Codek? (Ive been spelling it with a ck... bad CB naughty CB!)

You're a bit strange of late... kinda extra scratchy and bitchy and easily riled... what evers getting you down hope its all sorted out soon.

Smell 07-06-2004 08:05 AM

Once again CB resumes the "argument"

Anyway, shut in loner, no but at the moment I am as I am being forced to occupy my time struggling with pre 20th century novels over the holiday to please my darling English teacher.

Disgruntled Intern 07-06-2004 11:06 AM

Shut in loner? No.

Selective in who I befriend/spend time with? Definitely.

In the summer I really value privacy and solitude so I usually hang out in the library or in my room.

Jacob 07-06-2004 01:16 PM

As of late i've suddenly become like DI's explanation. People annoy me. People make me want to hurt others. There're seldom few who amuse me, are good company and are good people, the rest are utter c*nts who i use purely to not be alone.

And now one of the decent ones has gone on holiday for 3 months. Joyous(!) So now i'm either going to have to bond with the cretins i consider below myself or stay sober for 3 months. The latter being an un-choosable option.

But there's 3 aquaintences whom i get along with, so, all should be well.

Silversnow 07-07-2004 01:34 PM

I'm not sure, but I vote yes. I have three close friends and one I'm a little unsure of. We only met in school, except once. But now that we have summer holiday and we're not going to be in the same school anymore, I have a feeling that I will be quickly forgotten. I have trouble to make new friends, since I have always been a nervous, shy person. And because all I ever talk about are fantasy, books, games and random gibberish. And of course, I don't talk much with people I don't know. And there is this whole problem with first impression and shallow persons. There aren't many who want to make friends with the fat, ugly chick that sits quietly in a corner like I always do, no matter what I tell myself.
But I might have a chance. I'm going to a whole new school and can change, right?
Who am I kidding? I'm a pathetic person and I might as well try to get to know my shoes better since I will be rocking back and forth in a closet in a few years, talking to them.
