Lorne said it himself. MO was a **** up. But it isn't all bad. It's actually quite fun. In fact I am planning on getting an XBOX and MO.
But the best games are the original two. And they always will be. The music, the graphics, everything. But MO is still fun. Fun as hell. |

Well, I haven't got MO, but I know (I hope I'm right) that there aren't many "possessable" Glukkons. AE was full of them. I miss possessing many Glukkons and giving orders to Sligs. In MO there some Executive Glukkons who has to do something with Lulu's Fund and that's all. Am I right?

I miss the old slig voices and here they are back on popular demand!
"Wait! What! Hi! Hear Boy Get em Lookout! Bzzzzzk! Bluah! Bzkbzk!" Help! heh! Those were the cool slig voices. When I first heard of Munch I was hopeing for that and even some more really creative ones like that "Yo Whats up!" routine we saw in that Big Bro sponsor of Blitzpacker. And who can forget the flying sligs. "Gatcha!" That was awesome. What about the wells I wish they were more like AO and AE wells in MO. I wish they weren't like cannons but I like that too. Or how about the pullys and the boom machines and that when you ran into a wall you knock your self to the ground. They dident have that in Munch eather. And I miss the way we used to possess and depossess. I don't mind the orb but I do mind the chicken leg routine. I wish it would go back to actual body parts like in AE and AO. Shrykull, ring powers, bells, whistleing, and the old way Abe farted. It sounded so much better when Abe farted in AO and AE. I can't stand the MO fart its not odd. I love Splinters and I love Flub Fuels Mudokon pens, That level was cool because at the beginning you droped down into that deep pit into the water which at the top you can't see the bottom. The echo was right it sounded vast in size and it was just more Oddworld like in those levels. |
PA you missed one out. The "Freeze!" command.
And Dripik, MO actually has MORE gluks in it than AE and AO. AE has 4, but MO has one on each level. |
i think AP mentioned wait instead of freeze, and dripik means all th gluks in the game not aslik, dripik, phleg and the brewmaster only
|
Dripik is right... you can do a lot more things with the glukkons in AE then with the ones in MO
oh yeah, btw, death, there are plenty more glukkons in AE than only 4 |
It'sa mixed bag
Well, there are things both good and bad about MO. For one thing, I thought AO was annoyingly hard. I couldn't even make it past RuptureFarms! AE was a little better, but still too hard. Things like those slig voicelocks just ruined it for me. No matter how precisely I followed the pattern, it would just laugh at me. And there was no explanation as to what to do about those other than follow the pattern, no instructions, so I ended up having to use level-skip on those. So Pros: 1-- Munch's Oddysee was challenging, while not being frustratingly unplayable.
There are also things I miss though, like the FMVs in AE. They actually had some action and stuff, like Abe flying out of an exploding Necrum Mines and landing scorched on the Guardian skeleton: that was cool! The cinematics in MO were not without their twisted charm, in fact many were pretty damn funny, but none of them showed any action. It was mainly talking, or a newspaper. Probably the most exciting one was where the fuzzles attack that Intern, or when Vykker Labs goes kablooey. So Cons: 1-- Munch's Oddysee FMVs were rather dull in comparison. Wow, I tend to ramble, don't I? Better stop before I start sounding like a school "Extended Response" question answer. |
AO/AE was hard, but that's what I liked about them. I actually played AE first, so going to AO without quicksave or the ability to talk to mudokons at the same time was weird.
