Arent we all just a bunch of critics! Mudflub2 don't worry about it it is only constructive critisisem and I think it's a fine idea. We are all artist of something. Some people like what we do some don't. Don't let it bother you.
I balieve if you want a good game then you have to wait for it. A good game takes two years to make. 2003 2004 is probabally when it's going to come out. No wounder Lanning doesn't want to say anything about his new game and I don't blame him. I would too if I was in his shoes.:fuzblink: |

I really can't wait to see if there are new characters! SO COOL! Does anyone have ANY imformation about them? Hand of Odd will be a strategic game, I think!

Well the only reason why it would take long is because of the process in building the game and createing a story. Oddworld is so good it is probabaly like makeing a full motion picture for them. They write the script which could take months maybe even a whole year. They have to create story boards and and all the conceptual artwork for the game. Then they have to make all of that come alive through computer graghics. I am taking animation and visual design coarses right now in college and it involves a lot of problem solveing and configuration. You have to make basic shapes sort of talk to each other and work together in order to create your world. You have to think 3D when it comes to this type of thing. Plus you got to think of your business too. How many copies I want to start out with and figureing prices and fun things like that. And on top of it all you have to create the sounds and the music. But in the end what you created is something extrordinary.
Stuff like Oddworld, movies involves putting things together to make one whole thing. And by the time you get finnished with what you are makeing a game or a movie if you want it good it will be a two three year process. That is why it takes so long. But you have to admit it is well worth it in the end. You know? |

the problem lies in them trying to take it to the next level. they already have many of the models, but now they want to improve it. (which i agree with) we could easily have an expansion game with the the same characters and different scenarios. its very painful to know that the wait is for our own good. keep the faith, loose the spooce.

OK so as of november updates it looks like we are screwed on the waiting thing. No major updates, no new pics. that just means we have to get creative with our topics.

Wouldn't they also be developing a new engine, I'm guessing that they want the whole game alot different from MO. So wouldn't they also be designing A.L.I.V.E 3?

i have my doubts that the two games under development will use the same game engine but i could be wrong. does HoO need an alive engine? it is not going to be played in the same way as the quintology games. we will see. as for right now we are waiting for even the smallest peice of info on the next game.
