The answer to that is just this: Glukkons are willing to give up their freedom of movement for the sake of vanity. It goes to show how vain they are, as well as represent in this world how people (mostly of "higher" status) are willing to pay any price to flaunt their status. It doesn't matter how it feels or if it's comfortable; as long as it's expensive.

I most certainly think that they do. In MO the Glukkons would say nothing but annoying boasts. Which is a shame, in a way, because it took all the sinisterness out of them. In AO, Glukkons were slick and business-like. AE turned them into bumbling idiots, and MO made them incompetant mobsters. Oh well, here's hoping for the future.
