the One Ring on the condition i possess all the power to do superduper shit and take over the world and not just go invisible, which'd be pretty wank.

the One Ring (as long as I can use it's full potential without any 'bad things happening' (I can't remember the word that means 'bad things happening in the future' that starts with 're'.))

repercussions?

Nate 12-01-2012 03:13 PM

I'm quite confused by so many people choosing the pillow. What is the point in having all the fictional characters in the world if they lose their superpowers?

Or is it just about raping Galadriel?

MeechMunchie 12-01-2012 03:48 PM

Since when were the only useful characters superhuman?

Nate 12-01-2012 04:39 PM

You only get them for a night, though. You join the dots.

Bullet Magnet 12-01-2012 04:58 PM

I misread it. I thought it said you become that person.

Mr. Bungle 12-01-2012 05:40 PM

Only for a night? Shit, I didn't read hard enough.

Uhh, maybe the reincarnation pill. A human body of my description? The possibilities are endless!

Bullet Magnet 12-01-2012 05:53 PM

Not as endless as you'd think. Very quickly I realise that my descriptions are no longer human by any standard definition.

Sekto Springs 12-01-2012 06:07 PM

Not to mention that if your memories and experiences from your previous life carried over to the next, you'd be getting short-changed due to the proportional time paradox that comes with aging. Your next lifetime would be only about half the length of your former one, and so on and so forth.

Bullet Magnet 12-01-2012 06:23 PM

Unless of course that gets reset too. We assume that it comes from having a long memory. No one has ever done the experiment where they suddenly become young again.

Daxter King 12-01-2012 06:55 PM

Fuck it, I'd still take the pillow.

Bang Cortana one night, Catwoman the next.

Mr. Bungle 12-01-2012 06:56 PM

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I remember that I'd probably just be a horny bastard with my choice.

Plus you could conjure Ryu to fuck up your enemies.

We should ask those immortal Jellyfish about it.

Bullet Magnet 12-01-2012 07:05 PM

I think their lack of a central nervous system will influence the results of any memory study.

Sekto Springs 12-01-2012 07:06 PM

Sometimes I think you're too much of a geek for your own good.

Bullet Magnet 12-01-2012 07:07 PM

My fear is the opposite: that I'm not enough of a geek to make use of it.

STM 12-02-2012 07:58 AM

After much consideration (and by much I mean a few seconds), I decided the monocle, then I'd go searching for dropped £50 notes...

If we had a second choice, I'd rescind my previous ideas and get the mech, because who's going to argue with someone who owns a mech?

Varrok 12-02-2012 08:53 AM

The guy with Iron Man suit, I guess

STM 12-02-2012 09:44 AM

Nah, my mech is better.

Crashpunk 12-02-2012 09:45 AM

Bring it.

Tired Glutton 12-02-2012 12:36 PM

If I took the bath robe would it just be water i can control? or things made out of water too? would they just turn back into water if i tried controlling it?

Ridg3 12-02-2012 12:56 PM

I can't imagine using it for anything other than using it to keep me dry.

Bullet Magnet 12-02-2012 01:52 PM

Iron Man suit is equivalent to the mech, except that it's more convenient. You can do stuff with it indoors.

Vyrien 12-02-2012 01:52 PM

I'd take the bathrobe.

"Manipulate" is such a broad term, who's to say the user couldn't manipulate water into a portal to another dimension or something equally awesome? Plus you could make a ton of money by holding fresh water ransom or converting seawater into drinkable water.

Bullet Magnet 12-02-2012 01:55 PM

You could drill holes with it. Everyone likes holes.

Vyrien 12-02-2012 02:00 PM

Exactly. You can't drill holes with The One Ring or a magic pillow.

Bullet Magnet 12-02-2012 04:12 PM

No need. They come with their own holes.

Nate 12-03-2012 12:34 AM

Your pillow has a hole in it?

I... uhhh... You know what? I don't need to know the answer.

Bullet Magnet 12-03-2012 06:20 AM

I kind of figured that the magic pillow would...

Mac Sirloin 12-03-2012 07:57 AM

Fuck robot wars, now I want to have a robe at war. Controlling water is cool, but you know what's cooler? Conjured weaponry made of piss.

Sekto Springs 12-03-2012 10:05 AM

You'd be that supervillain all the other supervillains would avoid at parties.
