I somehow couldn't get into this game, I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but in my overall feel it was just too bizarre... I'll probably give it another chance later

It was a bit weird at first but the moment you get over that it's a gripping game. I still play it every now and again.

Also, forgot to mention these:

Crusader: No Remorse
Dungeon Keeper
Pretty much all Bullfrog god games. (so technically dungeon keeper twice)

Varrok 03-01-2012 08:07 AM

Look what I've found (I mean, if you don't know that already) : D

Funny that, me and Havoc were talking about Theme Hospital yesterday. But yes, that and Dungeon Keeper should be brought back- Provided it's nothing like it's sequel, since unfortunately it wasn't very good compared to the original... There have been several re-makes of Theme Hospital but nowhere near as good as the original game.

Jordan 03-01-2012 08:49 AM

The Breath of Fire series. It needs to come back, as long as it isn't shitty like the 5th game.

DarkHoodness 03-01-2012 09:01 AM

Heh, yet another game series from my childhood that I've re-played countless times (3, 4 and 5 anyway)... It would be nice to see a true RPG sequel rather than something like 5, though.

Dragon Quarter wasn't a bad game, but it was different and didn't feel at all like a Breath of Fire game. It had superficial elements from the previous games, for example the two main characters names were the same, it involved dragons, there were eye goos as some enemies, but it really should've been a standalone title. Then again if it was, nobody would've played it. Except nobody played it in the west anyway. Heh. Shame really, 'cause I found it quite fun.

Wings of Fire 03-01-2012 09:04 AM

Dark Cloud 3 please.

Mac Sirloin 03-01-2012 10:29 AM

Not a franchise really, but I always loved Tiny Tank, it had really great music that didn't really fit the game. It was kind of bass-ackwards in that it was a Mascot game intended to outsell mascot games by being a parody of mascot games. I'd love for it to be rereleased on PSN.

OANST 03-01-2012 11:02 AM

Okage. That game was the shit.

Hazel-Rah 03-01-2012 11:10 AM

This is a franchise I'd like to see make a comeback....

It was my first CD based game and that scene where the screen goes black and that demon comes bustin' through the stained glass window is something that has stuck with me my whole life! Maybe we'll see Fortesque make a triumphant return in that Playstation Super Smash Bros-esque fighting game that's coming out...

OANST 03-01-2012 11:12 AM

I loved MediEvil back in the day.

But Okage was better.

Varrok 03-01-2012 11:12 AM

MediEvil's got a remake on PSP (so it's not that forgotten), played and completed it, the story telling is a bit different, and, IMO, worse than original :) There's also at least one new (unnecessary) character

Original PSX version rules

Daxter King 03-01-2012 12:58 PM

OXM said their new issue will have the first details on a reboot, the cover features a blood splatter.

I think its Blinx 3.

Crashpunk 03-01-2012 01:32 PM

I was about to say Beyond Good & Evil but apparently they are actually making a sequel.

Hazel-Rah 03-01-2012 03:54 PM

Everything from the characters to the art direction in MediEvil Resurrection were just too juvenile for my tastes. The original games -especially the first one- had such a cool Nightmare Before Christmas atmosphere, espeically the Pumpkin Gorge stage <3

Phylum 03-01-2012 08:39 PM

The Jade Cocoon universe needs a new entry. The thought of ideas from JC being applied to a current-gen game is exciting.

I'd also like to see a new Magic Carpet game.

Screamer Rally is by far my favourite racing game, with V-Rally Edition 99 in 2nd and Midtown Madness 3 in 3rd. Still have it on one of my retro laptops, the speed it runs at is brilliant, great for a DOS game.

jumper 03-01-2012 10:53 PM

Klonoa probably deserves another game. The core gameplay mechanic of being able to utilise enemies for platforming and puzzles was really good, and there's still plenty of untapped potential there.

Glitch 03-02-2012 12:52 AM

ARGH LBA REMAKE!

Also, Dungeon Keeper is dead I'm afraid. EA sold the rights to some random asian company that's making it into a World of Warcraft clone.

This made me very sad.

Varrok 03-02-2012 02:03 AM

I think it wouldn't sell well, first two games felt perfect, and there is another game series about an evil lord, Overlord

AlexFili 03-02-2012 02:53 AM

Lots of games, mainly BullFrog ones. Magic Carpet, Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, Genewars...

Magic Carpet was lightyears ahead of it's time. 8 player networked multiplayer, 3D deformable terrain, tons and tons of spells (with upgrades), a variety of enemies (including ones which only attack if you fight back and set the entire herd on you, enemies that stole your spells and mana). Different tactics to use on enemy players: Throw meteors at them, use lightning attacks, use a volcano on their castle, raise a skeleton army!)

Then there's games like: Freedom Wings, Rebelstar: Tactical Command, Transport Tycoon (as in a 3D version like the PS1 game), Warzone 2100, Wall Street Kid, Rush N' Attack

Wil 03-02-2012 02:54 AM

Quadruple yes to MediEvil. I never played the sequel.

Jordan 03-02-2012 03:59 AM

Medievil would be awesome! I haven't played the PSP version but I haven't heard great things about it. The second one was very average, I didn't like the british twist it had.

Mr. Bungle 03-02-2012 06:16 AM

The orignal Medieval was so fun. I never played past the first few levels, though. I oughta get it on PSN.

But yeah, a modern version of it would be sweet, but honestly I couldn't see it happening.

Medievil 2 was fun but a little bit too hard imo because... Idk how to say this, let's use Medievil wiki...

-"Fountains that have been depleted will remain that way even if the player were to return to the level after completing it. "

Nomadpaec 03-02-2012 08:21 PM

Oh man Gex has been locked away in my head until now I loved that game.

If anyone here has played Spider on PSone then I think that deserves a remake.

Croc was a classic also one of the first few ones I played.

How would Pong work out in HD?

Crashpunk 03-03-2012 04:09 AM

Aww man. How did I forget about Croc! I loved that game when I was a kid.

Also I want to see a remake of this

For the people who have never played Ty, It's a bit like Ratchet and Clank mixed with Jak and Daxter... Sort of.

Dynamithix 03-03-2012 05:02 AM

Perhaps not so forgotten nor a franchise, but I'd really love to see DICE make a new Mirror's Edge. That game was absolutely stunning. So colourful, great graphics, good gameplay and a decent story. It's a shame that not that many people bought it and now you can get it for less than ten bucks.

I know there have been rumours and even official news about Mirror's Edge 2, but at this point, it just seems to be completely shelved.

Also, it's the only game that I have ever bought from a retail store when it came out and it cost me around 70 euros and up to this date, I'd still say it was worth it. It was pretty short, yes, but just the colourfulness of it justified the pricetag for me.

Did get a spiritual successor in the form of Magicka.

Jordan 03-03-2012 10:15 AM

Mirror's Edge is probably the most frustrating game I've ever played. No other has caused me to shout racist and sexist rants repeatedly in rage.

Dynamithix 03-03-2012 10:21 AM

Really? I don't get it, almost everyone who I know says it's really difficult yet I managed to (uh oh, bragging incoming) beat it on the hardest difficulty without using any weapons with no trouble.
