Maybe there is a secret even deeper lake underneath the Loch Ness?

Bullet Magnet 12-13-2007 10:59 AM

There were no known aquatic dinosaurs. Neither is there any basis upon which to say that any mysterious creature, if there is one, is in any way a Lazarus taxon of some prehistoric group.

Everyones a critic.

I also belive that they could avoid detction by going deeper into the lake then our current sonars can reach

OANST 12-13-2007 11:14 AM

You would still think that there would be more than one. We obviously haven't hunted them to extinction.

Sonar can reach to the bottom of the ocean and several meters into the sediment and bedrock. I have done this myself.

My opinion is... there has to be something down there, Loch ness is very deep And when the dinosaurs where whiped out..... Well lets Just say that maybe something survived in What is now Loch Ness.

Yes, but the Loch did not exists 65 million years ago. The entire landmass of the earth was different.

Zelda--Fan 12-13-2007 04:50 PM

But, Loch ness could have been born from other ancient lakes and streams.

OANST 12-13-2007 04:52 PM

You have a completely theoretical and far fetched answer for everything, don't you? I love it. Never change.

Strike Witch 12-13-2007 06:18 PM

Nessie is actually Glaaki. Funny story, actually.

Leto 12-13-2007 09:40 PM

The forums have kinda hit loch bottom, haven't they? Ahahaha.

Splat 12-14-2007 03:31 AM

Maybe the Loch Ness monster is actually an overgrown blobfish.

Bullet Magnet 12-14-2007 03:38 AM

JFC, they have the nerve to imply that Triops sp. are somehow dinosaurs, that they are closely related to trilobites and then spelled "nauplius" wrong? Fuck.

Crustacea =/= Vertebrata =/= Trilobitomorpha

They do look cool, though.

Zerox 12-14-2007 12:35 PM

I used to have a couple. Ought to get more. Those things ruled.

Lived at time of dinosaurs. I mean, does that look like a dinosaur to you?

Bullet Magnet 12-14-2007 01:56 PM

Not really, no. It's more different from a dinosaur than we are.

And no, they didn't live at the time of dinosaurs. There were similar species, but the whole of Notostraca is in need of a review, as it hasn't been thoroughly examined since 1938, and only the carapaces were preserved in the Triassic strata. As a result, Triops, especially Triops cancriformis, is somewhat of a waste basket taxon, like Megalosaurus before the recognition of Dinosauria.

Note: I did recognise the sarcasm there. At least I hope that was sarcasm.

OANST 12-14-2007 01:58 PM

It's a dinosaur. My daughter says so and that's that.

Bullet Magnet 12-14-2007 02:00 PM

You have convinced me, Theodore.

OANST 12-14-2007 02:18 PM

Call me The Beav.

Strike Witch 12-14-2007 03:47 PM

My favourite Fail species are Trichordates.

OANST 12-14-2007 04:41 PM

My favorite fail species is ghost.

Strike Witch 12-14-2007 11:50 PM

That is true, what with being dead already and all.

Disgruntled Intern 12-15-2007 03:01 PM

That just makes me think of the Video-Ouija episode of ATHF.

You know what I mean...

Which part did you mean was sarcasm? If that was directed at me...
