don't say ne, say 'saru doshi desu!!!!!'.
People slagging Halo is so very normal now, it's worse than avid Halo fans going 'omgomgmogmasterchef'. I liked Halo 3, that being said I didn't play many games this year as I've lost all motivation to do so. completely cant be fucked with orange box, Portal would be nice but mabye as a cheap XBL arcade game. |
Halo 3/Portal/Psychonauts!!!
|
I love how everyone thinks that shooters were the best game.

I haven't been able to afford any other games besides Halo 3 this year, but I did have the time to play some other great games besides Halo 3. However, I really enjoyed Halo 3 not just because I'm a huge fan of Bungie or Halo, but because it was a lot of fun for me and it was great to "Finish the Fight." Furthermore, I am still enjoying multiplayer and playing it everyday quite a bit. I know some love or hate the campaign, I personally enjoyed it this time and it gave the right blend of nostalgia with enough new flavor and interesting gameplay to keep me coming back for more.
That being said, I don't believe it deserves "Game of the Year." There were plenty of great games this year and I'm excited to see the consensus on which one will take the crown. If we go on originality I really have to say Bioshock takes the cake. I know it's another FPS, but it's definately different than any other FPS I've seen or experienced and in the case of originality that goes a long way. In terms of overall fun and great game experiences every time I'd have to say Mass Effect or the Orange Box would come close with H3 for me as well and of course throw Assassin's Creed (I enjoyed it) in the mix. |
Trophy Bucks. Seriously, if woulda' been a big hit if that stupid Bungie didn't release Halo 3 the same day.

You wouldn;t happen to have heard of a certain group of gents called Mega 64, would you alf?
|
Ugh. Die halo, DIE!!

I'd go for Portal. I played the flash version and it was VERY satisfying. I can't imagine how much fun the real thing is.
I haven't even played halo3 yet, and I can tell it's all going downhill from here. That shitty cliffhanger at the end pretty much killed it for me, and the only reason I would buy halo3 is to kick my cousin's ass, and possibly some ten year old who doesn't know proper english. That's probably the reason everybody else bought it too. Negative vote. But my fangirl ties won't let me not buy it! I'm surprised nobody's voted for twilight princess yet. |
It was relased in 2006 (at least where I live).
I didn't like it as much as Winwaker, honestly. |

Make the poll already Kastratikon
|
How do I added poll to thread?
|
A late entry but what about Guitar Hero 3?
Musical gaming for the masses (although they could have done a better Maiden song ¬¬) |
Just make a new one Kastere
|
Before the poll gets made I'd like to add SupCom and C&C3 as they were good strategy games that came out this year.

Oh right, as for me it would be Super Mario Galaxy. Just to be different :P. |
hmm...
Bioshock |
I forgot that the only other game I properly played this year was Pokemon Diamond, that kills Halo for the longevity thing, but only for week longer or so.

viva pinata is HARD! you may think i suck, but once you keep playing the game, the food chain starts -_-# anyways, the best game for 2007 for me is "skate.". yep it has a period at the end, i don't know why. |
Well, the only games I've played deserving of it would be masseffect and bioshock, haven't even finnished masseffect, just got it, so I guess bioshock is my vote.
Kind of short on cash, and just got a 360, but plan to get orange box and call of duty 4, aswell as assasins creed soon, maybe on my birthday (yes, I am hinting to my parents, oh only 2 days now, can't wait) |
