I think Glukkons and Sligs are the best, because they are lay-about Industrialists who don't give a stuff what they do or who it affects.
Oh, and Gabbits are pointless.

Zozo the Zrilufet 06-18-2007 07:36 AM

:pI wike sligs.

Arxryl 06-18-2007 08:02 AM

Hm... Well, the Shrykull is pretty cool, but I'm not sure if it is really a species. If not my vote goes to Scrabs, Mudokons, Steefs, or the Outlaws.

IAmHeavy 06-24-2007 08:28 AM

meeches i find is powerful than scrab!
it has a fierce two mouth, with spines on its back, with arms i think!

Mia the Mud 06-25-2007 04:19 PM

I would have to say Muds. Man, I love those guys! They're so cute! (Yes, I think they're cute :p)

Alexandru21 06-26-2007 10:11 AM

My favourite creature is Abe. He is a Mudokon.

Director Phleg_47 06-28-2007 12:36 PM

well done, that would be correct
genius

Hulaabeo 07-11-2007 04:21 PM

That would be fun. When you try to pat it, it eats you. :)

So much fun.

Salamander 07-21-2007 12:59 AM

Bats. They have great depth of character, OWI should quit making Citizen Seige and make an Oddworld game with bats as the main characters.

Chaos_Shrykull 07-23-2007 04:49 AM

My favourite are Paramites... they're so deceptive. It's like : Hey! A Paramite! Lets follow it! Aaaargh.... more of them!"

Paramites are cool. They're my favourite 'cause they're spider, dog, crab, and... thing. :P

Wil 07-23-2007 05:17 AM

…and hyena. ;)

Chaos_Shrykull 07-23-2007 06:34 AM

Hyena? Lol... how are they hyena?

Wil 07-23-2007 07:45 AM

Their social behaviour is modelled on hyenas’, just as Scrabs’ are modelled on lions’, and Meeches’ are modelled on wolves’.

How do you know this stuff!?

Xavier 07-28-2007 02:25 PM

Years and years of reading evey interview and bit on info he could find on the net :p

mudling 08-21-2007 03:43 AM

boombatz and elum and maybe steef, expecially elum. he was my fav speacies since I first saw him in AO.
I like interns and vykers in a strange way, and sligs, but expecially interns, they remind me of myself, expecially with the music constantly on.

alf's brother's mate 08-21-2007 04:11 AM

Fleeches, they remind me of my sister. (always on my case)

Even though you are probably right on that I don't see lions attacking each other on sight....

alf's brother's mate 08-23-2007 10:05 AM

Anyway, how were meeches moddeled on wolves, when we don't even see them in gameplay?

Most cats are highly territorial and will become aggressive when they encounter. They’re not quite as vicious as Scrabs: they don’t fight to the death, as the loser will normally be given plenty of opportunity to retreat. But lions differ from other cat species in that they can live in prides as well. Just like Scrabs!

Matt Lee told us so.

alf's brother's mate 08-23-2007 10:26 AM

Who the mishelshunffle is Matt Lee?

Crig the Slig 08-23-2007 01:50 PM

If the animals in the games are hyenas, lions and wolves, does this mean that the area of Mudos we've seen roughly equates to Africa? If so, it would raise quite a lot of questions, such as are Abe's Marching Mudokons like our African tribesmen in the 18th-19th Centuries, having their lands taken and being forced into slavery while others of their 'species' live so-called civilised lives in other parts of Oddworld? Or do I just think too much?
Actually, don't answer that.

Matt Lee is currently the person answering emails sent to Oddworld. For a brief period he answered a lot of our questions, and told us a lot of information about Meeches. I think it was thanks to Zerox.

Abe’s story is inspired by the idea of an African diamond miner finding out where the diamonds all end up: as jewellery for some other society’s fashionable and wealthy. Slaves taken from Africa are obviously one of the more familiar examples, but the persecution of Oddworld’s native cultures draws from any number of native cultures on Earth.

Also, there are no wild wolves in Africa. :p

Abe78 08-25-2007 06:16 AM

Mine is Paramite, because paramites are like spiders, and I love spiders.

Fuzzle King 08-26-2007 12:03 AM

scrabs:the best.end of.

Mistress of Oddworld 08-26-2007 02:17 AM

Paramites!!! Awww.... They're so cute, I just want to pick one up and huggles it till it squeaks! Which, of course, it wouldn't. It would eat me instead. Paramites are the best! Sligs are really awesome too, I love the way they talk. I really like glukkons, their body design is so unique and finally, sloggies! I would carry them around in a very secure handbag, and release them when my enimies are near! har har har :p

squeak117 08-26-2007 03:45 AM

I'd have to say Scrabs, although only in the first two games. Scrabs always scared me the most (except for maybe Slogs), and the music when encountering them was always so suspenseful. I'm sure there are legitimate reasons for them moving in groups like in Munch's Oddysee, but I just don't think it's as cool as two Scrabs taunting each-other and then fighting to the death.

I'd never really looked much into Paramites, but I still think they're exceedingly cool. They're also bastards. It scares the living sh*t out of me when I'm following one and all of a sudded two more come crawling down. Their ability to set traps is what makes them so cool.

For me, a big part of the 'awesomeness' of these creatures comes from the music. I'm sure that being chased by a Scrab in Scrabania or having Paramites launch their attack on me from above would be alot less 'awesome' if there was no music.

But there are wild dogs, or "painted wolves" Lycaon pictus.

My favourite beast is the scrab. Has been ever since I first saw one. Although I do love paramites.

Inquisitve Intern 08-26-2007 11:11 PM

Glukkons, Paramites and, of course Interns. To bad their lips are stitched it'll be great to hear what they have to say
