The design philosophy of Oddworld is that every single character need to look as if it came not from an artist’s drawing board, but from a mother. Taken literally, it implies that not all characters have a male parent, but I interpret it as meaning that the life cycle and personal history is very important when creating the main characters. If Abe’s parentage is of any significance to the Quintology, Lorne will have already thought it through.

Ugh, stop over-analyzing, you people. It's clear that the reproductive models of oddworld are modeled after colonial insect models on Earth. Not modeled completely, Mudokon females and males do not have wings. But the structure is still the same.

I never asked if they have wings I couldn't care less, I don't really care about the whole reproductive thing either.
I was just thinking about Sam and how it must suck for Abe not to know his parents. Then I realized the "s" at the end their. We know absolutely nothing about Abe's father or the other drones.
I just think it would be a shame if Abe's father died before he met his son who turned out to be the savior of his race... now if that doesn't make you proud what will?

heh, with that drones system no one will be able to tell who's realy his father. All drones are supposed to do is procreate the mudokon race. they don't raise them or anything else. Same thing for the mother, so I realy doubt Abe has the same feelings towards his parents as a human would

What about his son who makes great tea? What about his sons that serve burgers or dig up the bones of their ancestors. What about his sons that live an industrialised life in the big cities of Mudos?!

One drone would have many children. I doubt he would feel much for any of them.

But The Daily Deception Online was almost entirely created for the Inhabitants to have fun with Oddworld fans. After Munch’s Oddysee dropped the Sam plot, and OWI started developing a non‐Quintology title, the question of Abe’s mother was left hanging, and this is OWI poking fun at that fact. The canonicity of this merriment is suspect.

I'm actually referring to a interview with Lorne Lanning about Stranger, in it he is asked what Abe is doing while missing in action.
Lorne says that Abe is on vacation in Necrum as ordered by the Almighty Raisin, however Abe spends this time crying thinking about Sam.

Yeah ...but hey...You should re-play the first Oddworld game and you should notice that Abe is blue before he gets to be chosen ...or maybe he got chosen before he was born...anyway you can notice that Abe is getting green in some spots ...I really dont renember , but its in the way to the Scrabanian Temple :P Take Care !

But his he green :P In Scrabania , GLITCH ^_^'' When my Dad first playd this game...long time ago...I was verry lil and I askd him why is he blue...We dint had the FMV's so we dint had a story...so my dad made one up and he said that Abe is blue cuz his from the outside and he has more Oxygen :P But maybe the destiny chose him to be blue so other will know who he is ^_^ ! Knowing Oddworld, it is quite likely, unless they pull the "unlikely hero" card again. Or perhaps the brand-new "unlikely virile male" card.

Biologically speaking, it depends. If they are competing with a large number of other hopeful drones, expect interesting adaptations.
