Also did you notice - very few sligs react to other posessed sligs in AO. Every slig in AE does.

Yup, the bells have been made specifically for mudokon possession so they would be quite easy. Now, the mystery is how they actually work...

:

it does seem odd that a non-living item could channel the possession powers. Perhaps they were forged with spooce energy in the fires of Mount Doom?

how did he manage to possess his farts?
Heh. Reminds me of Foul Old Ron's Smell in the Discworld series. That might be posessed...

Excellent. "Buggrit, buggrit"

Huh? In AO they mostly shoot the moment they see a possessed slig.

If anything, I think the interaction between sligs was much more real in AO than AE.

Zerox 10-07-2006 12:24 AM

In AO I only remember one instance of a Slig shooting another possessed one. Other than that, only if they see the said Slig get possessed.
In AE, they DO, however, respond in the same way to another Slig talking to it, if it can't see them eg. they're a level up.
AO's funnier..."Freeze" "*laughs*" *shoots* "*laughs*"
What seemed odd is when Slogs out of spawners attack their Slig masters, when otherwise they obey them.
I wonder what would happen if when you were the Slig, you ran and the Slogs continued their pursuit.
It's not "bullet-proof abe". I don't think so, anyway. He's also invincible to all other forms of attack, even Scrabs, and will only die from infinite cliffs and from too high onto his feet. If you land on your back from even many screens high, though, Abe won't die, even thought it'll make the "splat" sound. He'll just be angry as he gets up :P
You can even mess around in electric walls or the toxic gtas when you screw up the Dripik or similar areas.
As for possession of farts...it's from Soulstorm brew, made from the bones and tears of living Mudokons. Also, like most creatures, some sort of bacteria in the gut may...there's a few possibilities.
It's surprising that the noxious, visible gas is not noticed in any way be Sligs. Maybe they can't smell like Mudokons do...

There's more than that, but it's still very uncommon. On AE, all sligs will attack a posessed slig.

They do? For me, they always just go "What?"

Bullet Magnet 10-07-2006 02:41 AM

"What?" is the olny slig noise you can't emanulate in the game, which irritates me. Half the buttons make them go "Bleugh!"

Zerox 10-07-2006 03:04 AM

I thought they went more like "Weh?"
Sometimes you have to repeat things a few times. If you saw "Look out!" Once, they just go "Weh?". Try iot a second time and sometimes they yell "Help!" (which you can't emulate either, except for AO, leaping off a cliff. That was funny...they should have left it in AE). But don't do anything. Morons.
I always wanted a better Slig gamespeak range, they had them, but half the buttons did the same thing twice. It was annoying, particularly when there are other possibilties.
In AO, they always laugh when you tell them to freeze. Always funny when you then shoot them afterwards anyway.
Once it got glitched, can't rememeber how it did it, but the Slig ended up not beating a Mudokon, but attempting to beat the floor a few steps away. Looked pretty dumb doing that, too.
Those silly ol' Sligs.

ZANGG 10-07-2006 03:31 AM

You can make them go "What", can't remember exactly how.

Zerox 10-07-2006 05:29 AM

Oh yeah, I remember...you press up or down to go "Weh?"
You still can't go "Help!" though...which could have made some funny scenarios.

I'm pretty sure slogs run faster than sligs so you'd be caught pretty quickly.

Zerox 10-08-2006 06:43 AM

No, they're equal speed. They're both the same speed as Mudokons exactly. You can test it out.
Once, I don't rememeber how again, but I ended up with an unpossessed Slig. I just randomly watched it walk off a cliff, by it's own devices.
Idiot.

Bullet Magnet 10-08-2006 09:44 AM

If you are hiding somewhere past the drop and keep talking to sligs as they walk, they often step too far. Works with mines, too.

magic9mushroom 10-09-2006 02:39 PM

That glitch is included in most walkthroughs.

Ah, that does make sense. I reckon you're right there, then, cause it also explains wht he can only possess the brew farts.
