Yeah he has a point. Topic people!

Meh. Yeah. I'll make an emo thread later if I can still be bothered.
|
To me, 2006 does seem a bit, well, I don't know. I have some weird feeling that something in technology will advance a bit in 2006, but I had that feeling in 2002 and 2003. 2007 I'm not looking forward to for some reason, 2008 will be the year I leave school so I'm kind of anticipating and dreading that at the same time.
But on the subject of emo and bisexuality, I'll briefly say this: Someone at school who I know, and am sort of friends with but not buddy-buddy really, admitted he's bisexual today. Although he also said he was a bit confused about it too, but I was surprised at his openness about it. I was surprised by this revelation at first, but as I thought about it, it sort of seemed to fit. To me that comes close to matching Dino's definition of emo-emotional openness. But anyway, back to discussion of time, before we go severely off-topic. |
STOP THE EMO-BITCHING! ARGH!
No, seriously, make a thread about Emo, but don't mess up this one. I estimate that this whole thread is about 6/8 about Emo, and 2/8 about the actual topic. SeaRex/Hobo, split the topic please. As for the 2006 thing. Well, I don't care. The only time I think about the new year, is on December 31th, at 12 o'clock. Just a bit of counting, Happy New year, then some booze, and then to bed. Or not. But afterwards, I don't feel much different than before. Yeah, I used to think the new year was all that, but then again, I was, like 10 at the time, and my folks let me light my first firecracker then. The next year I set a pack of mini-rockets on fire. Quite the effect, especially on bystanders! |
God forbid discussions naturally develop into different subjects.
An emo topic would be near-useless, as we have almost covered the subject. Well, a couple of us have. But, okay, back to time. Time moving feels weird. it is weird how it is relative. I like how in some parts of the universe, time moves more quickly or slowly to where we are, though we would never be able to tell if we were in those parts. But what is time? We talk about it as if it is a thing, but what would happen if it removed? Is time a necessity to existence? |

Time never ceases to amaze me. It reminds one that you'll never know exactly what will be happening to you even in a year let alone four to twenty years down the road.
It's weird for me that four years ago I first joined here and I was in 8th grade, and only turning 14, now I'll be turning 18 in six months, just weird... |
Yeah...
Think about 2020! I'll have car! I'll be the god damned batman! But seriously, I'm scared that time is creeping up on me like Brian Peppers. What the hell happened to 2005!? 2006!? AGH! 2020! CYBERPUNK! NOOO! On an un-related note, I'm back from the dead. Hide the children. |
:
Oh boy, I smell havoc. It's been almost 3 years but we're back. |
Rofflecopter. Yes, rofflecopter indeed. :p
Time is one of those things that is incomprehensible if you think about it too hard. It could speed up at any time, skip ahead 30 years, but we wouldn't know. It's insane. But the thing I find the most unbelieveable about time is that it's infinite, then everything (EVERYTHING) will have to repeat itself eventually. The same conversation you're having with your friend walking down the same street, with the wind blowing in the same direction, and ABSOUTELY EVERYTHING in the world that is happening at the same time of your conversation will eventually come to repeat itself in exactly the same sequence, down to the twitch in your left pinkie finger. Ponder and achieve insanity. :D |
:
Other things in the universe may, however. |
Time could last forever, but actions that happen in time do not have to repeat themselves. They are not connected to time.
|
If time is infinite, then that means it doesn't repeat itself. Think about it - It's constant, never ending, never beginning, for it to repeat it would have to have an ending and a beginning, but if it never begun and never ended then how can it repeat? It's always been there, a concept that the human mind cannot grasp very well.
On a related/unrelated note, I got high last night on some AMAZING weed. It felt like I was having loads of orgasms and at the same time tasted like I was sucking on this really sweet and really sour lemon confectionary of some description. I was totally couchlocked, and in heaven. |
lol at Dino :p
Time infinite... But i do think it had a bignning :-/ I think i read it somewhere once, but i wont get more into the subject since i don't know much about it... Anyways, i can't wait till 2006 :D I'm so exited to see what good/bad surprises it holds :) |
:
:
0.0 I'm talking about stuff that's a bit over my head, methinks. :
|
Seriously, it still feels like I have this amazing lemon candy in my mouth, and it's the day after I got high. Sour candy is the spawn of god.
I've got about four ounces of this stuff, so I reckon I'm going to make a decent motherload profit off it if it's that hard hitting. |
I was looking forward to the year 2005, it sort of felt like the future, but overall the year was dissapointing, I was expecting a fresh year instead it was kinda rusty. But man, it was a quick year, it feels as if it was christmas two days ago. I can't say much about 2006, apart from when I finnish school, so it may be bad or good depending on the direction I'm taking.
I remember this film made in 2000 which was set in the year 2005, and it was about an android. |
Yes. It was extremely quick, and I have a feeling that 2006 will also pass quickly, as I finish school in may. Then I'll be in 6th form and have slightly more spare time, so my band should increase activity. So 2006 will be the year of funky happenings methinks, after this crap year.
|
Well I can say this the older you get the time goes by faster and faster. Im 23 years old and going to be hitting 24 in Nov. It feels like yesturday I was in my teens attending highschool. Now I am in the real world, no more school, trying to establish myself and trying to make a liveing. I tell you life does not get any easier when you get to my age in fact it gets harder. All I have to say is time speeds up when you get older. Well got to go to work, I am so happy I have tomorrow off!
Peace! |
The only thing I fear in 2006 is that the Football WM in Leipzig will find place. The horrible thing in 2006 will be that I have examinations. The most horrible fact in 2006: all trains will be filled, crowd of humans will squeeze me through the streets, the main station will be overfilled with skinheads and football fanatics and in every damn channel can football be seen!!! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
|
The World Cup will be the best period in 2006. :D
I just wish our team had the same skill it did in say, 2001. :( :( |
WOW, the "How Emo became to be and its meaning" debate has begun. I wonder how this started..
ANY-way Time for me just passes by without me noticing it till later on. Of course there's the occasional celebration, holiday, mediocre pinata beating party that I don't even pay attention to anyway. I'm so caught up in so many idealistic plans for my future. I have to still have to deal with Highschool graduation and plans for college and my career. So, technically I tend to ignore things. Next year I'll improve on my maturity and ability to take things more seriously (Not too serious mind you) and focus...I zone out most of the time. I'll hopefully increse my artistic abilities and understanding of Art. That's 'bout it. |
I don't have a problem with being emotional. I also don't have a problem with the word emo. I do have a problem with people who dress a certain way and then convince themselves that having done this proves that they are truly emotional and also far more emotional than one who doesn't dress this way. In all actuality all that they are proving is that they are giant turds who really want us to think they are cool. Just be! Don't be emo. Don't be punk. Don't be hardcore. JUST BE!
|
Aye! The offtopicness is coming back!
Anyway from what has been happening now think time is near it's end. I mean we have so much crap happening there might not be a 2010! And that just makes me weep :"(.... |
Humans have survived for a while. I don't think we're in any real danger as a species anytime soon. There's no need to be so apocalyptic.
2006 will be the first year that the high school sophomore class of Washington will have to pass a standardized test known as the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL for short) to graduate from high school. I've never had any trouble with it before (it's given in 4th and 7th grade as well), but I am somewhat worried for my classmates. This test is notorious for its huge rate of failure. My only real hope for the majority of my classmates is that so many people will fail the test, the people in control of education in this here Worshington will instantly see how stupid an idea it was to make it mandatory to pass it, and abandon that plan. For the good of the order, I must point out that they were planning this before Bush came into power. It's not the federal government that's screwing up in this instance, it's the stupidity of the people in charge of my own dear old Evergreen State. :p EDIT: My postcount is 1234. WHEEE! |
