Then I have a completely different game, because for me, he doesn't look anything like that pixelated thing. That is probably some kind of alpha version of Stranger. For example, look at this guy's video of LP Stranger's Wrath:



That Stranger doesn't look as pixelated as in the picture.

Well done for picking a video where the only close-up of his face is obscured by convenient vegetation. Stranger really doesn't look particularly high-res is that video. I don't even know how you can use it as evidence to the contrary.

It's the same model as they used the original source files to make the picture for the blog post... .

Keep in mind that some years have past. You always have a better picture of things in your head than they actually are/where.

Also lighting and ingame engine rendering have a big impact.

That certainly was Lorne's long-term goal. But it's really not realistic yet. I've yet to see a game in real-time that I was 100% sure was pre-rendered.
