Here's what Wikipedia says:
OddBox Oddworld Inhabitants have confirmed they will be porting the Xbox game Munch's Oddysee and Xbox game Stranger's Wrath to PC for the first time in a package called "Oddbox". The downloadable-format package, expected to be made available in early 2010, will be released on digital-download site Steam, amongst others. The package will also contain the two earlier games, Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus, both originally available on PC and the original Sony PlayStation. |
I wonder who wrote that.

...no problem, really :) |
I hope that, just because Wikipedia says so, it's coming out...maybe today!!!
|
Also, if we view the page at the time 41.232.62.99 edited it, we discover the bad spelling and grammar we thought should come from our resident Egyptian. But who corrected his errors?
Track down this page and we have the present-day Oddbox section,, which appears to have been made by 86.170.22.45 from the United Kingdom. Which of our brainy Brit members is most likely to have made this change? Well, at first I thought Max the Mug, but if we view 500 edits a page and search for "Max the Mug", we find 5 results. So unless he wasn't logged in for this edit, it wasn't him. It's really impossible to say who it was who made the final edit, but we know that abe69 made the first copy, and I'd bet every pair of pants I own that the mysterious 86.170.22.45 is an OWF member, too. Wikipedia doesn't edit itself, you know. |

Don't You get it? THIS WAS ALL A LIE!! Nothing from all of this is true! A JOKE, A TRICK for fools that beleived including me then I realised that it was all a bad joke! this topic should be necrum'd or closed;) |

|
I think that was a bad attempt at a joke by TCE.
|
I think we should continue this thread so it can pass "Q&A" as the biggest thread.
|
|
Listen people, You need to learn to wait. porting a game takes time, Think about it.
They have to change a lot. Controls, ingame button refrences and even up the graphics a bit. so instead of spamming, joking and question it's exitistants. Just wait for it. |

You're praying that it will never come out? You are a strange, strange fan.

*prays that Oddbox comes out* |
I don't think this has been mention and it might be a far stretch, but...
Recently it has been announced that Valve's Steam is coming to Mac Os X. They are porting a bunch of their games to run natively on the Mac. Maybe (read: unlikely) Lorne has decided to also make the oddbox available for the Mac. The Os X version of steam will be released next month, so maybe we'll know more then. Once again this is just a possibility and probably not the reason for the delay. (ow btw, I'm new here !!! Wanted to join for a long time, finally decided to do so) Cheers, Brun http://www.bruncroes.blogspot.com |

I use Ubuntu 10.10.
|
Oh my god shut up with the operating system tantrums.
|
duke nukem I MEAN OddBox Forever
|
I love the fucking rage going on here. We're even getting people who haven't posted in ages having a quick moan. Christ.
|
Mac and PC are both very capable machines. So don't start the pc is better than mac or mac is better than pc discution --> Cause its useless.
The reason why they would do this is because Mac is gaining enormous momentum and attracting a lot of young people. Lorne has always been interested in trying new this, this could be one of them And like I said before, it will most likely not be the reason for the delay. |
Maybe we can have a PC vs Mac discussion, just so the thread will be more interesting.
|
By which you mean 'closed instantly'.
|
PCs are better than Max.
|
Repeat after me.
PC > Mac. Good. |
Repeat after me:
"I will pay attention to Max's post and shut up now" For the record, Valve have put in a massive effort to port the Source engine to Mac OS. Once that's done, it's comparatively simple to port the games. OWI never seperated engine from game in the same way that Valve had, and they certainly don't have the same resources as Valve, so I sincerely doubt that any Oddworld game will be ported for Macs. |
@Nate
Good point; though they might put a cider wrapper around it (Cider is a way to play windows encoded games on a mac via a simple wrapper, the only downside is that there is a minor quality loss) But indeed good point Nate. -Brun |
