That creepy pitched down moaning sound?

Mac Sirloin 10-16-2011 12:06 PM

It's even creepier when you give it a label.

Sekto Springs 10-16-2011 12:14 PM

Something about pitched down anything in movies is scary. Especially baby cries. *shudders*

STM 10-16-2011 01:58 PM

Downton Abbey. Loves me some Edwardian action! OMG I LUVVVS IT.

MeechMunchie 10-17-2011 12:42 AM

I've just seen Brian Aldiss and Ian Hislop at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

Living in a centre of middle-class grandeur does have some perks.

JennyGenesis 10-17-2011 01:28 PM

Death Race

It was shite.

Crashpunk 10-19-2011 07:49 AM

Inception.

Holy fricking jesus WHY DIDN'T I WATCH THIS FILM EARILER? Its amazing.

MeechMunchie 10-19-2011 08:07 AM

Works well with your avatar Crash.

Dynamithix 10-19-2011 08:10 AM

It wasn't that good.

Mr. Bungle 10-19-2011 08:14 AM

I thought it was pretty good, but overrated. It didn't blow my mind or leave me completely confused like people said it would, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Sekto Springs 10-19-2011 09:08 AM

Relevant to our previous discussion. Sort of.

Dynamithix 10-19-2011 10:06 AM

Oh man, that was awesome.

Dynamithix 10-19-2011 09:13 PM

The new South Park episode was stupid. The earlier one was really good, but this one was so unfunny and dull.

Mr. Bungle 10-20-2011 04:57 AM

I started watching Arrested Development a few nights ago. Holy fuck, this is one of the most clever, well-written and downright hilarious shows I've ever watched. I'm two thirds of my way through season 1. I can't understand how it only lasted for three.

Dynamithix 10-20-2011 05:26 AM

Have any of you guys watched a show called The Wire? I've heard that it's an amazing show, but I wanna know if it really is worth watching.

MeechMunchie 10-20-2011 08:40 AM

It was a phenomenon in the UK, but I never watched it.

Crashpunk 10-20-2011 03:11 PM

Watching old Episodes of Futurama never gets old..

Yes it does.

MeechMunchie 10-20-2011 11:15 PM

No it doesn't.

"And Fry, you've got that brain thing!"
"I already did!"

Ridg3 10-20-2011 11:16 PM

I watched Attack the Block and Second Glance. And I'm not sure which one I enjoyed more. Attack the Block was really good and made chavs out to be... awesome, whereas, Second Glance was clearly meant to have some message about god but it got lost in the part whenever Dan Burgess gets his prayer answered. Turns out, if you're not a believer you can pull multiple women, live filthily, be popular and lose friends to suicide. The show was worth a good laugh though.

Dynamithix 10-21-2011 03:47 AM

Yay. Someone besides me who actually liked Attack the Block.

It's considered one of the greatest television series ever made, if not the most well written. It's definitely worth getting into, but watch the seasons in order. There are 5. It is important that you don't lose a step.

STM 10-21-2011 02:17 PM

NEW SERIES OF THE WALKING DEAD! Had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through!! Who the fuck shot him though? O_O

Bullet Magnet 10-21-2011 04:03 PM

I had hoped for reat things with Terra Nova, but right no I just wish they'd pick a geological epoch and continent ad stick with it. Brachiosaurus in the Cretaceous, really? Allosaurus? Long-tailed pterosaurs? GRASS? Come on people! Spielberg, Get your head out of Jurassic Park's ass!

So far only one species has been spot on the right time frame, and that's Carnotaurus, which would put them in South America. I don't know, some people think of the age of dinosaurs was temporally and geographically amorphous, and even the clever ones who get their dates right still think it's acceptable to put the Mongolian Velociraptor under the feet of the American Tyrannosaurus. And all plants from all of Earth's history are apparently acceptable everywhere.

Apart of that it's okay, if derivative. And I do enjoy the anachronisms in a way, it's just not the kind of enjoyment I was hoping for.

StrangerEastwood 10-21-2011 04:12 PM

I've been watching Archer. Good God, Jon Benjamin is fucking hilarious. It makes me miss Frisky Dingo.-_-

Bullet Magnet 10-21-2011 04:25 PM

I love Archer. Which reminds me: does anyone else watch Bob's Burgers? It's one of the few shows making me laugh right now.

Mac Sirloin 10-21-2011 04:51 PM

I love Bob's Burger's. I wish they aired it in Canada, I've had to Stream it

ACROSS SPACE AND TIME

but otherwise I love everything about it. I think I like it a bit more than Archer, Jon Benjamin really shines in improv.

Has anyone been watching China, Illinois? It's that amazing new series by Brad Neely:

Brad Neely taught me that I know a lot more about US History than I thought.

StrangerEastwood 10-21-2011 05:27 PM

Ive been watching both. They are awesome. Bob's makes me nostalgic for Home Movies...Loren Bachard is hilarious

Dynamithix 10-22-2011 09:24 AM

I saw Green Lantern earlier. It was alright.

scrabface 10-22-2011 01:02 PM

there were some laughable scenes in Green Lantern. I don't know where all this hate for the movie comes from, but the films nothing special either

The Walking Dead is superb

anyone seen Ichi the Killer?

great funny movie, I was pretty impressed by the performances
