I watched Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" for the first time for ages last night. An excellent laugh, I enjoyed it as much as the first time I saw it.

I love the scene with the catholic household

"Oh get that for me would you Deardry"?

OddjobAbe 11-24-2009 02:08 PM

The middle of the film tickled me, as did the liver removal.

What did you think of the Danish scene Second third of the movie?

Intense. Really intense. The tension was probably my second favorite thing about this movie. The first being how deep it actually is and how shallow it pretends to be.

I decided I'd do it in chronological order, seeing as I couldn't find MS IGLOO I'm on episode three of Romeo and Juliet in 'nam with Huge Mecha.

Despite what people say, I like the last episode of 08th MS team.

Also don't bother with Igloo, it's retarded.

I also watched this just last weekend!
Is this about the hedge?

Also Monty Python's "Life of Brian," which was pretty crack up too. I'd actually never seen that one before, but now I know where Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" song came from.

Definitely my favorite Python movie, gotta love the Crimson Insurance and the opening song. (Holy Grail next, then ANFSCD, then Brian)

I thought it was intense at first, but it just dragged on sooo fucking long. "We get it! He's eight kinds of intimidating! Fuck off with him chewing please!"
Otherwise excellent.

Ed, Edd, and Eddy's Big Picture Show

I liked it. Good send off to a great series.

T-nex 11-26-2009 05:39 PM

"The Descent" ... It's pretty good if you like 'Prey vs Predator' slasher movies where the victims are helpless :p

Leto 11-26-2009 05:43 PM

the descent is a proper good film, i enjoyed it a lot.

Despite what people say, I like the last episode of 08th MS team.

I totally loved it, it got me right in the chest cavity.

Now for the other two OVAs, then I imagine I'll stave off starting on Zeta until my exams are over, and I promised a friend I'd watch Eureka 7 soon.

You promised Nikki, and you're telling me she suffered through NGE and you have yet to watch E7!?

Wings of Fire 11-26-2009 07:19 PM

Already apologized to her about it, fuck off grasshopper.

used:) 11-26-2009 07:41 PM

Plan on checking out Guardian of the Spirit too?

Strike Witch 11-26-2009 08:19 PM

Meh, just counteracts her mecha chubby. I need moar.

Strike Witch 11-26-2009 09:30 PM

It's just a bunch of emo false-introspective bullcrap and otaku fanbait wrapped in Christian estoricism and held together by mecha fights.

That's great, but I can't stand it.

If you want a good Gainax show, you hit up Gunbuster or Gurren Lagann.

used:) 11-26-2009 10:28 PM

Gurren Lagann was some kind of amazing.

Wings of Fire 11-27-2009 03:09 AM

NGE was totally my favourite anime, next to Lain.

Strike Witch 11-27-2009 04:12 AM

That's nice kiddo

Schnappi 11-27-2009 06:18 AM

I'm ill (maybe I got swine flu, who knows ) so I decided to watch some films. I just seen " I Know What You Did Last Summer ". That was 97 minutes of my life I won't get back. About 4 times I thought I died and I'm in hell. That was so boring movie that I almost fall asleep in middle of movie. My eyes started bleeding and I thought I s**t myself. When I saw it on my friend disk I thought "It might be good film, why don't I give it a try". I was wrong and now I'm so pissed. I felt, that I have to share my feelings with somebody so I'm whining here. I think I'm going to delete it from my friend disk to save the rest of humanity. Seriously, if you didn't seen this film yet, don't watch it, or I'm going to fkn kill you (It's possible you will die during watching anyway). If you liked this film, then go behind corner, slap yourself, and come back.

Execuse me, but I had to say it. I think I feel better now

It isn't the best anime I've watched, that'd be Lain or FLCL, but it's my favourite.

EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO HAVE FAVOURITES STOP JUDGING ME OR I WILL CRY ;_______;

Meh... I don't think it was that horrible... Although Eureka 7 is still the best thing EVAR! =D

Agreed.
Everyone else I've talked to who has seen it doesn't see the appeal. Of course, they also haven't seen the whole show, so they have little appreciation for all of the metaphors and political messages that come about later in the series.

Leto 11-27-2009 12:21 PM

Lain > Eureka 7 + NGE

(i haven't seen either of the ones that aren't Lain and I don't need to)
