i think those are just new generic responses. nothing new in the code except for the merch
|
What Xavier said.
@Scrabaniac, yes |
Dank_MayMays is correct.

Okay, so literally everything i type in it is just giving me a general response. Even the obvious things to type like 'Abe' 'Brew' etc
EDIT: Guys, i typed in FACE.. and it came up with: ***CAN YOU SEE IT YET? WE'RE TRYING TO SHOW YOU. *** Edit 2: CHEST gave me 'SO CLOSE. SO CLOSE.' |
Scrabaniac is right. They're prodding us to find out.
DID YOU GET THE MESSAGE? Is one of the random ones. I'm gonna keep looking again, hopefully the break brings up some new ideas. Edit: How do you change your browser encoding, to be able to see that strange writing? Also: https://i.gyazo.com/4c10caba6291c499...d9f671194f.png |
HAND gives me YES HIM
Edit: WHO ARE YOU? gives IT'S BEEN SO LONG, I CAN'T REMEMBER, NIDDIELMIACMYSE]THPTILW [EWEOSS LOAE, cant figure this one out |
FACE says ***CAN YOU SEE IT YET? WE'RE TRYING TO SHOW YOU***
CHEST says ***SO CLOSE. SO CLOSE.*** EDIT: damn too late :p REVEAL ABE says ***THIS STUFF. THIS STUFF.*** |
I'm afraid we already know those three.
|
I'm getting randomly:
I'M SURE YOU CAN HEAR ME and THIS STUFF. THIS STUFF. Edit: I didn't see you had mentioned that Varrok, in which case I can confirm it's a random! I wonder what it means.. |
Me too!
|
GLUTTON just gave me 'PLEASE NO MORE'..
I haven't seen that one yet |
I hope they're referencing my Oddword fanfic about Mullock the Glutton
|
JAW returns "WRONG GREEN_WRONG GREEN"
Just kidding guys have a great weekend. |
:
That's a joke |
Just a little thing for the wiki page because someone changed one of the "new answers" to one of the generic messages: when adding to the wiki page, press the send button MORE than once to make sure the answer you've gotten isn't a generic message. Also, if the message is actually new, and there's already a message in the box, add a new column. If there's a dash, replace the dash.

interesting thing i thought i would point out
going to oddworld.com/soulstorm/ and then "125"(abes name if you go by numbers a=1 b=2 e=5), "356" (the one line of code on the page with an ! on it and nothing else) and "1029", (these are the ones ive tried so far). will all bring you to this page nothing to crack the code, but i just discovered it works with more than just 1029, so maybe something about these numbers will be useful later. i will update with more numbers and more links that i happen to find, hopefully something exciting shows up soon! |
hey its me again just noticed this in the source code for the main page
(without the signs between them because they mess up my post lmao " !-- there's got to be a wa_ attempt number seventy five... still lsot ? .m -- " its still stuff we've come across already, but i dont think i saw anyone mention it. if someone beat me to it, then thats fine. also, whoever went on the wiki and deleted the general responses list, not cool dude. |
I noticed the general responses list was gone while I was editing the page. It wouldn't let me add my edits because someone had edited it while I was putting in my stuff. I looked through what was edited before I added my stuff, and that general responses list was gone.
|
Ok guys. I think I may have found something important. I was looking though the page source of the main page and I inspected the blurred picture of what seems to be Abe's face. In the code it had images/reveal4.jpg
I typed in the link and it took me to this page: http://www.oddworld.com/soulstorm/images/reveal4.jpg I tried a few other numbers as well. http://www.oddworld.com/soulstorm/images/reveal1.jpg http://www.oddworld.com/soulstorm/images/reveal2.jpg http://www.oddworld.com/soulstorm/images/reveal3.jpg It may just be clearer versions of the images used to tease the '"prize" for enough twitter followers, but I thought it'd be worth mentioning. |

I posted that at 12:43 in the morning and now it's 1:53 and I've been very tired between both those times and just spend $51 on Steam. XD

Is there an announcement you can write on Zulag 1 to tell people to get up to speed with where we are with the ARG before they post, Xav? This isn't me shitting on any of the newbies, because it's great they're here contributing, but it might avoid having to explain that we haven't just started as things progress.
Also welcome gG. Thanks for playing. |
We should have multiple threads for this ARG, I think, to keep it more organised.
|
We should make a temporary ARG Subforum.
|
Oh Naaaaaaateeee~
|
Do temporary subforums have their own moderators, by the way?
|
:
|
The way I see it we should make separate threads for Submit Form respones (with the top post being updated frequently) and other, to avoid the situation where 5 people on the page say stuff like:
"I have found that X -> Y. I don't know if you've already seen this, because this thread is an unorganized mess and I'm not browsing 12 pages just to know it's been done". And I totally don't blame them for not wanting to browse it. It's natural. |
To be honest that's why I'm trying to maintain the wiki. This way people can see what we found yet. Also the wiki is editable by everyone so there's no bottleneck on how often and fast it can be updated.
I'll ping Nate to get an announcement. |
It's good that wiki is being frequenty updated and it exists, but it's not a part of OWF. We should be organized here as well.

Seriously though, no reason to keep the two separated. |
Agreed. The wikia is pretty much ran by Forum members anyway.
Why not have a sticky thread with the Wiki page in it? That way it'll be easier to redirect people to the nicely sorted wiki page. :) |
:
... I'm kidding! |
My recommendation would be to have a subforum and run a separate thread within it for each puzzle/clue that appears. Then, keep the wiki page updated as a central repository for our progress.
I’ve re-added the generic responses list to the wiki, and I’ll be editing the unique responses table shortly as I’ve noticed a couple of generic responses have been put there by mistake. Please test any responses you get multiple times before adding them to the wiki, and check the lists before adding them. |
:
Really don't feel there is a need to keep the wiki and OWF separated. |
Morning guys. Any leads? It seems like progress has seriously halted.
|

I think the rest of the text in http://oddworld.com/soulstorm/ed/ (the special characters) might be more than just white noise. There are code-breaking methods that count the character appearance frequency, comparing them to the frequency in a specific language. Let's assume the coded message is in English, as everything so far.
|
:
Also regarding the Wiki, it might be wise organizationally, to make a response section for only the replies with the *** *** asterisks, because they seem to indicate a response from the character we're interacting with. The others just seem like gags and references. But that's just my observation. |
