I've been watching SW and MO on YouTube just to keep myself amped for the coming games. Yeah, I know AO and AE are part of it, but since they're not new, we don't have to be as concerned.
I still check the Steam store every day to check for the OddBox D:
Latest quote of Lorne about the Oddbox...
:
Do we spell it OddBox or Oddbox? Not really important, but we need SOMETHING to talk about.
The Odd Box, if you want to emphasise the TOB joke. OddBox if you want to parody Xbox. Otherwise, OddBox.
I should know this by now but why doesn't Oddworld Inhabitants get the games on Xbox live? Is there a reason or is at Lorne is far too busy? :fuzconf:
Another thing, I know he must have his reasons in continuously missing dead lines but how about instead of announcing what he has planned simply giving us an apology for his constant delays? Yes Lorne, you are a genius but c'mon, thats just rude! :fuzmad: |
Good point, it'll be good if MO and SW were released on the PSN too
:
Same could be said also with Sony
Except it can't, because they've been really eager and helpful getting AO and AE onto PSN.
Oh right. I fogot about that

The OddBox, TOB or not to be? that is the question, ....if you pronounce it a certain way

Maybe AE and AO will have better resolution? Not only 640. I think that sources are much better quality.
I doubt the resolution of AO and AE on Steam will be changed. After all, they are both already on Steam, and the resolution hasn't changed. Call it a hunch.
Also, they're being ported to Steam more through a process of reverse engineering than going to the original artistic and digital source material for the games. :
That deal was forgotten when Microsoft backed out of publishing SW, yes. Remember EA were hoping for a PS2 port for a while, and it wasn't Microsoft that stood in the way. |
From all I've heard (and seen) of MO, the gameplay isn't too good and the story isn't too well developed. I think the reason we're so excited about it is because it's Oddworld. If it didn't star Abe, I think nobody would've bought it.
My name is nobody
I definately would have still bought it, Oddworld is Oddworld |
Max the Mug, what kind of reverse engineering you are talking about? Versions for Steam were made from original sources, aren't they?
No, they pretty much take the finished game and do things to it that make it work on modern versions of Windows. That's my understanding.
:
What about a publicity stunt? Something to open the public's eyes to Oddworld. I mean it used to be HUGE! People loved it, but forgotten. Maybe an advertising campaign can be arranged for when OWI finally does what ever it's doing. |
Hm... But my old AO and AE (not Steam) are working on XP. Is Steam version include original games only patching them for online shopping?
I hope, that Oddbox will have maybe a slightly improved graphics. I will be happy :-) |
:
2)AO and AE definitely no, MO and SW probably no. |
:
I think Oddbox release date "Q4/2010" or "Q1/2011". |
Because the architecture and API for the PC is completely different to the Xbox. Needs a lot of reprogramming.
And what are you basing your predictions on? |
IGN still says Q1 2010 and that seems reasonable. It'll either come out this month, or next month or when it's done damn it

Even if they don't change anything, I still want to play them!
