Well, that was the fault of the Police (after a guy died planking off a balcony) saying "This is a dangerous trend and we caution everyone not to take part in it" rather than "This is a sign that any sort of behaviour is more dangerous when you're drunk".

Then again I've planked before on someone's Mercedes bonnet at 3 AM while trying and failing to sober up. =/

I suspect a large part of it was because the Police told everyone it was dangerous and they shouldn't take part in it. Those guys clearly don't understand reverse psychology.
