It's not called a 'stretcher'. What you have in your ear is a taper, and it's a fucking tool used to stretch your ear, not a piece of jewelry.

Wearing an acrylic taper after recently stretching, and I'm assuming you went from a standard sized piercing to a huge stretch, like most idiots like you do, is really, really stupid. Why? Because not only is it impossible to properly sterilize acrylic jewelry, but because it's so porous, it harbors bacteria like a motherfucker. Even if you don't catch an infection, you probably will get the infamous 'ear cheese', which stinks.

Skipping sizes when you stretch is dumb. You risk tearing, and scarring, or blowing out your lobe all together. Not fun. Also, stretching your lobes properly is something that takes years, not days, weeks, or months. When you do it right, it shouldn't even hurt.

I'm going to link you to a proper guide on lobe stretching, but because you're such a fucking stupid dolt, I doubt you'll do anything with it other than skim the first paragraph and decide you know more than the people than wrote it, even though they've been practicing body modification for SEVERAL DECADES.

I don't really get the point of those 'stretcher' things, many people in our school have them. My friend has a 10mm and it doesn't look "cool" at all. (At least in my opinion.)

My dad has one that is 12mm. I don't like it too much, but at least he has stretched it properly over these years and it looks a bit better on an adult than a 15 year old acne-face.

My septum is stretched to a 4 gauge, which puts it at roughly 5mm. I'm 26, and got it pierced when I was 18. It was originally pierced at a 14 gauge, which is 1.628 mm. So I've been safely stretching over a period of eight years, and each stretch was properly and professionally facilitated by a piercer. I listened to my body and waited until it was time before each stretch.

Stretching the air sounds like a complicated job, this is why I'd never be able to achieve it properly. That and I like my ear how it is. DI you've fully put me off ear stretching.

It wasn't my intention to put anyone off of body modification, but I fucking hate all of these stupid kids who rush the process and do everything in the worst possible way. It not only makes the rest of us looks bad, but further stigmatizes the entire practice of body modification by furthering the stereotype that it's 'dirty' or 'unsafe'.

Well folks here is genuine proof that you shouldn't give into Peer Pressure and that if you do, your a complete arse.

I knew this girl who was obsessed with the body mod culture. She was such a naive twit and did absolutely no research into the mods she got/was getting. She was also too young to get half of them, and would attempt to do them herself or get them done at less-than-reputable places as a result. She'll probably get a nasty case of tetanus of HIV from one of those filthy basements where she gets them done. I hope she does.

First of all i did it properly you dumbass! why the hell would i do it unproperly and risk it blowing out or tearing! second i have been stretching it 1 mm every week i went from 1.2mm (average ear piercing to 2mm than 3mm, then i skipped 4 and went to 5mm (which i regret because it got a little infected.) then i waited until it healed before i went to 6mm

im not like my mates and crap who go 1.2,5mm,10mm and im not going past 6mm and im only keeping it for like 3months or something so my ear heals back... also i just stretched it and i do have proper tapers like my 6mm tunnel.

But I would probly never get em, I also have to wonder about the implications they may have on the people's professional life.
Don't a lot of employers discriminate against such body mods? Also even if they are taken out, you will just have a long, flappy ear-lobe which must look weird.

You could end up with a physical change in your body that you will regret later on. Body mods are choices you have to think long and hard about, and be sure that the reason you want em is sincere. Otherwise you will look back at this years from now with regrets.... and the scars to show it.

SO please, don't do it if its just to look cool.
Get better friends. Do you really want to become them, in a few years? Take a good look at who you associate with, because you WILL be influenced by them, and things you may hate now about them may become part of you in the future.

and also that is exactly how i feel and although i got peer presured to do it in the end it was still my decision and i actually kind of like it (i dont know why) but yeah the friends that i have right now are dicks so i might just stop hanging out with them or just punch them in the face because theyre cool when theyre not being gay
