Ok.. The titlle sucks... big time <.<

But it's true. My parents both helped me out buying a new computer which was actually very good value for money. I will be able to edit video, music and graphics on this comp with no problem. It has a quad processor and 600 gb hard disk

Im happy. I was going nuts for a day not having internet or anything since my old, loyal comp broke down I miss it. It's served me for 6 good years.. or so. I will miss it an it will get a proper burial and voodoo ceremony, where it's soul will be sent to the spirits as a thanks for keeping it alive for this long.

But anyway... The really bad news is... it came with Vista *cry* ... how will I get Visual Studio 2008 to work on Vista?? =(

Good for you! Six years is pretty good in a world where computers get thrown out after the slightest decrease in performance, compared to more up-to-date counterparts.

I've never tried Vista, so I can't share the pain.

If you say Vista sucks you're using it wrong.

Also why downgrade when you can just get Windows 7 for free?

It's basically XP but with all the stuff Vista fixes such as memory errors but none of the shit you want that Vista gives you.

i agree with Chubfish, in a way that i have never had any major problems with it but have not really used its full potential, and i've only had it a few months. i am not E-Literate.

apart from when it decided to not startup one day and i almost had to buy a recovery disc for £30. that was a bastard.

Vista isn't quite so bad now that they've fixed most of the driver and software incompatibility issues. Why wouldn't Visual Studios 2008 run on Vista? Surely Microsoft would make sure their own software works correctly?

Give it a try. If you don't like it, you can always upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out in the next few weeks.

I thought Windows 7 was already out O_o...

Anyway yea... My computer comes with free W7 upgrade... Only bad thing is that I has to pay for transportation of the item cos they are too retarded to put it out for download <_< oh well. I guess I might just do that.

Well I'm downloading Visual Studio 2008 from our school's website now... but I've read that it doesn't work on Vista(or it needs some fixing for that). Also when my 'friend' tried installing it, it didnt work on her comp either.

I'll have to research ways of making it work.

Official release date for Win7 is October 22, according to Wikipedia. Lots of people have it though, due to betas and RCs and all that jazz.

Ah... Well my schools website has had it out for a month or two now... SO I guess it's just a beta too? ..

Vista doesn't fuck up anything on my computer. I've been waiting for something to screw up due to Vista ever since I got my computer though.

One of my computers is as old as I am. I can still turn it on and play my old games on it.
