My Dog might be hurt :(

Posted 06-15-2009 at 07:32 PM by Mac Sirloin
Earlier today he was walking around just peachy, but something happened to his hip that's keeping him lying down. I (under advisement from a long-time dog trainer) game him half of an Aspirin (hidden in some peanut butter, and coerced him into eating his dinner and drinking some water.

I really hope he's just sore from my trying to pick him up like a jackass earlier. I'm not sure what I'd do without him

Eh, I doubt it's anything serious.

If I were you, I'd take him to the vet or something just in case. Hope he makes it if it's serious.

vets charge ridiculous prices and play on your heartstrings, they're real money-grabbers.

it sounds like it might be a pulled muscle, i shouldnt worry. but i know what its like to have a beloved pet get ill. if they could talk and tell you what was hurting it would be a whole lot easier on both pet and owner.

time will tell, i bet he'll be fine.

I don't have a pet to take to vets to pay ridiculous amounts of money to be played on my heartstrings.

Indeed it would MA. But we have yet to translate barks into english. Or any language for that matter... Or at least not to my knowledge.

It actually warms my heart to hear about a person treating his pet this well.

I hope the best for your dog and that his leg will heal soon.
If it gets worse you should probably bring him to a vet, but for now just be with your dog and take good care of him

It looks like old age is finally setting in for him. We should still take him to the vet, though, as something may be causing him pain.

He usually sleeps in my room, but he couldn't get up the stairs last night. I brought a blanket and a pillow down and slept beside him in the front hall until 2 AM when my sister came in. I slept surprisingly soundly until 8AM, where I had to go to co-op. I didn't stop worrying that he was in serious trouble until I got home.

Poor guy, I love him, apart from his stinkiness.
