Finally finished after nearly 7 months...

To justify this blog, this is my personal thoughts on this.

I'm tired. Been awake all night working like a madman. This may not make much sense.

As many of you may have noticed by now with my spamming my newly-created vid everywhere (which I'm sorry about but many people avoid both Minecraft topics and fan corner, this thing is made by us, it deserves to be seen), I've finally finished re-creating Abe's Oddysee's intro sequence in Minecraft using minimal modding and with direct help and suggestions from many of the members of OWF.

It was a labour of love... I owe a lot to Abe's Oddysee and Oddworld - I wouldn't have met so many awesome people if it wasn't for them, so this is my way of saying "thanks", I suppose.

However, I think I'm crazy for spending so long on a project within a game, I also think I may have wasted my time on it somehow.

I am happy with it though, considering how difficult it was to make. Waste of time as it was, it was time spent doing something creative, and I'm hoping at least a few people will appreciate it - Especially those who were involved in the making of it, and I owe a hell of a lot to all of you. Thank you all, and it was awesome gathering you lot up to help me with this. Couldn't have done it without ya.

I've also surprised myself at just how creative and resourceful I can be when I put my mind to something considering I have little experience at doing stuff like this – Although I am good at making the most out of very little. Maybe I should use this as inspiration to learn some new skills, now that I've proven to myself what I can do.

Woah. That is beyond amazing. So much better than I was expecting.

Have you sent that to Lorne on Facebook? I reckon he'd get a kick out of it.

Thank you so much, all!

@Nate - And yeah, this is why I've been working on it on and off over the past 7 months (Actually I think there's only about 3 or 4 months actual work there). And no, I haven't posted it to Lorne's Facebook page... You'd think he'd look at a link from a random stranger?

He accepted a friend request from me, so I'd say yes. Especially considering my profile photo.

Yeah, I've seen him comment on other people's work before. If you're worried, I can send it to him and credit you.

Very well done, all of you, especially you, Edd, for all the building and recording and editing.

I remember how much time it took simply to clear and flatten the building site - I may have listened to the whole series of Bleak Expectations while I was helping with that. And the whole thing started out in Survival mode, that is, everything was produced legitly from the world, and not spawned in - that's amazing about the first half of the whole project.

And this is why it had a special mention in the credits. That was a massive group achievement.

Looks great. Did you build all that by yourself? I could never build any of those mega structures in minecraft. Too difficult(depending on what you are building), too much time to sink in.

95% of what's been built, yes - I was given materials for the frame and outer panels by other players, although much of it was also mined by me. Dripik built a portion of the frame, while Hulaabeo built a pipe or two inside the main building. Many other people helped at the start of the project to clear the land, though half of that job was done by me as well.

When 1.0 came out in November I switched from Survival to Creative mode - Half the project so far has been done with it, including terraforming the entire front area and swapping all the dirt with mycelium.

I would have had more people help me but I figured that it was easier to do the building myself rather than explain exactly what I wanted doing - I'm the type that plans stuff as I go along anyway, though.

Really you've done something amazing. But don't take all the strain yourself. We're here to help too. And don't worry, you deserve a break now

Well it's just how I work, really - Hardly anyone thinks like I do while I don't plan ahead too much, so it's hard to tell people what I want done and exactly how I want it done.
