Fuck

Posted 04-21-2010 at 07:05 AM by Havoc
Last week my dog had a seizure. He didn't appear to be heavily affected by it at first but as the days went by his condition grew worse. Today it got to the point where he was not even able to get up from his pillow anymore. Taking more then two steps would be to much and he would collapse, not being able to move a mussle. I'd have to carry him back to his pillow so he could get some sleep. In his own best interest we called the vet to make an appointment to put him down. That call was the shitiest fucking call I ever had to make.

We just came back from the vet and I'm hoping I did the right thing. The little bugger fought until he could no longer fight, so I hope he's in a better place now.

that's a shame, i know what its like to lose a good dog.

are you going to get another pet? it doesn't replace them, but fills a gap, so to speak.

We still have a cat so there's still some company around the house . But we're thinking of maybe getting a kitten.

In my experience it's best to wait. It sounds like he was more than just a pet, so grieve. Don't try to replace him right away.

Anyway, you have my condolences. Did the vet have an opinion, or did you just have your dog put down no questions asked?

That sucks alot, man. Sorry to hear it.
As much shit as I talk on my ill-behaved dogs, I will be sad when they go. Actually, come to think of it, my one dog is at least twelve but he stills seems as spry as ever.

Its terrible when you lose a pet, especially if they suffer. It's also a terrible fuckeroo when you have to make the decision to put em down. My cat, Gizmo, died slowly and horribly just under a decade ago. His organs failed one by one, he was so dehydrated that you could see his bones jutting out through his fur, barely able to walk. Needless to say, it was easy to make the decision to put the little bugger to sleep.

My condolences. He looked like a great dog.

After the vet told us he had his initial seizure they gave him some antibiotics and some fluids to get him fixed up a bit. Seemed to work but after that he just got worse and worse. We've been to the vet like 5 times in the last week to see if there's anything else we could do, but in the end it wouldn't have made a difference and the vet told us yesterday that his recommendation was to put him down. I wanted to take some time to get used to the idea so we took him home, but today he was in such a bad shape that we decided to do it as soon as possible.

The only time the kitten has to see your medical history.

Sorry about yo dawg. It's a big thing to lose.
