I have began to notice that many of the science courses I'm taking have this fascination with, and seem to have to include, female circumcision in the course material somehow. Why??????

How has female circumcision got to do with Science?

Religion, yes. World politics, yes. Feminism, yes. But Science? I don't get it.

I guess it has to do more with culture in social sciences, I don't know. My anthropology book has this whole freakin page on it, and the ethics of it. My psychology class did too, and even my biology lab teacher had to mention it; which makes no sense.

Ohhhhh, social science. No wonder we were all confused. Besides, the medical effects of female circumcision clearly fall under the banner of biology.

Yep. That's why I think the females who undergo it in parts of Africa have it way worse than the males.

But, but, how did these types of men even find out about the clitoris? I'd be willing to be that 99 percent of the people here wouldn't know how to find it, much less these puritanical assholes.

We're hardly the most likely bunch of people to do well in a female genitalia spotcheck, now are we? (Or should the spotcheck be of our knowledge of them?)
