Unrealistic math.

So my friend messaged me.
"My lucky number is four billion. That doesn't come in real handy when you're gambling. 'Come on four billion! Fuck! Seven. Not even close. I need some more dice. Four billion divided by six, at least.'" Which got me interested. "For four billion by six, you'd need to get all four billion dice to hit six. A more realistic number would be 4 billion by three. Which comes out to roughly 1,333,333,333 dice. If you were rolling at a rate of 2 dice per second, you'd need 666,666,666 seconds. Which is 11,111,111 minutes... 185,185 hours... You'd need 7,716 days to role the dice. 21 years of rolling two dice every second without breaks. Which got me thinking. Lets say you have a massive dice rolling machine that could roll 3 thousand dice every second. It would have to go through 444,444 group rolls, or 444,444 seconds. That's 7,407 minutes, which is 123 hours, which equates to 5.125 days. 4 billion dice is just unrealistic, even with unrealistic math. Anyone care to check my math? |
