I finally took Meagly McGraw alive this time

Every time I start a Hard Mode run on Stranger's Wrath HD, my boss bounties are always taken alive.

Until I come across him.

MEAGLY FRIGGIN MCGRAW.

Every single time I fight him, I can only kill him, since he has the habit of shaking off the knock-out effect of both a Thudslug and a Zappfly together. This starts off a Neutral run in terms of how I capture a bounty (most alive and a couple dead, thanks to how difficult the later ones, starting with Meagly, become to capture). This time, I was determined to take this tiny jerk out of commission mercifully and, after numerous failures and swearing, I DID IT. I knocked him out, and bountied the jerk.

SCREW YOU MEAGLY.

...

Now I have to fight the rest. All of which are terribly difficult to knock out.

Greeeeeeeeeeeat.

I remember this certainly being a challenge, but spamming Thudslugs and Zappflies made it pretty easy (goes for basically any of the bosses).

A couple of the bosses in New Yolk regenerate their stamina way too fast for this to work, though. And Packrat Palooka too.

True. If memory serves I used a lively combination of Boombats and Thudslugs for those guys, finishing them off with a Bolamite that holds them down just long enough to capture them. You have to be insanely quick though, because it only holds them down for like 2 seconds at most.

Huh, really? I thought that Bolamites just completely stopped working on bosses after Filthy Hands Floyd.

They work if you get their stamina low enough and they have the 2 little stars circling their head I think. But it's pretty tricky to get them in that state without killing them.

'Grats man. I haven't tried a hard run yet, but Meagly is definitely a bastard to fight. Packrat Palooka is my least-favorite though, since I always have to knock him off that stupid platform and he spams me with so many missiles that my ears are ringing by the end of the fight. I finally figured out the thudslug-zappfly spamming trick, so maybe that'll help me next time.

Packrat Palooka is the only outlaw i have never been able to take alive. once you disable his forcefield thing, he doesn't give you much time to knock him off the platform and knock him out before he's back on the platform with the forcefield running again spamming rockets at you.

Couldn't knock him out. Brought him in dead instead. Couldn't be bothered to restart that whole fight again. Ah well, at least I tried!
