	I can't stand Derren Brown, nothing he ever does is convincing and is so obviously staged, ever remember his explanation of how he managed to correctly guess the lottery numbers live? It was a load of bullshit, the worst thing he ever did was Derren Brown's Apocalypse, that was the one of the worst tv shows I've ever had to sit through.

	Mediums are also psychological and stuff. They are charlatans, not lunatics, and are probably employing similar techniques to what Brown does, although I couldn't comment, because I don't know his act. But, like mediums, those who entertain it are those who'd be willing to participate in the first place, so of course it's going to work on them, because they have an inclination to believe it.

	Yes, and they derive their "information" about the dead through physical cues from the hapless mourner as well as general statements and safe assumptions, and tricking the participant into actually giving them information.
