If your friend does anything "for a living", and he's homeless, then he's not actually making a living.

As for me and my family, I'm not really sure what we're going to do. The threat is real though. The idea of selling all my belongings just to eat is really fucked up. I have no one I can stay with, as the few friends I have are in almost as bad a crunch as I am.

Have you thought about staying in the Y to tide you over and just getting a bog standard job to cover rent+food?

I can't really say much helpful since it's not an experience I can personally relate to, but I'm sorry you're in that situation. I hope you manage to find some way out.

This isn't funny. This sucks.

Worst case scenario, there's always welfare. I guess.

We don't qualify for welfare because we're educated. As far as the government is concerned, if we have highschool diplomas then we should be making enough to live. Like it's that simple.

We've tried every possible outlet, but we don't qualify for any kind of aid. Food banks/stamps can only be given out to people of a certain yearly income, and because we made just barely more than the maximum threshold last year, we aren't allowed to eat.

Neither of us are eligible for unemployment, because I'm not in any way infirmed and my mom already used up all of hers because of a work injury a few years back. I can't even get tax exempt from my current job because I can't find any documentation from my prior employment.
