So recently I've had this 'nostalgia trip' from a program that used to be on the weekends mornings in Britain for about 5 years (2002 to 2006). Some of you would of heard of it, it really all depends if you were the right age and if you live in Britian. Anyway, that show is Dick and Dom In Da Bungalow.
It used to be a children's TV show that was Live in the weekend mornings. Each week, Kids went into the Bungalow and tried to gain enough points playing some of the most ridiculous games you've ever seen to win prizes and if you haven't figured it out, Dick and Dom were the hosts.
It had whole load of slapstick, completely surreal and silly moments, toilet humour as well as a lot of improv. It was daft and stupid and it was bloody amazing.
Here are a few clips
Bogies was the most popular game. Taking turns to shout 'Bogies' louder and louder in various different public places, The person who shouted the loudest making the other player forfeit the game wins. They usually played in quite places like a library to make it harder and so much funnier.
Looking back on it via clips on YouTube, I realized how genius the show was. The fact that it was Live every morning made kids look forward to the weekend even more and I've got to hand it to Dick and Dom for creating such a fantastic formula. Kids of today don't know what they are missing! No other kids show in recent years has been able to be as entertaining as Da Bungalow and I feel rather lucky that I was the right age.
So yeah. Bit of a random Blog I know but Hopefully some of you lot remember this show as well and we can all play Bogies sometime.
Oh and Dick and Dom are still around. They have a new show 'Hoopla' which pretty good as well.
Ugh... I remember this, I always used to switch over when it came on, never really watched it properly, though. I was more of a Prank Patrol kind of kid.
You mean Stitch Up!? That was more like Candid Camera.
EDIT: And yes, there is a difference.
Worth it for the theme music alone. Sadly it's missing my favourite recurring sketch, "The Un-Private Detective". It consisted of a boy dressed like a '50s private investigator hiding behind a newspaper while another boy with a megaphone announced his current thoughts.
And I loved Dick & Dom. WoF's just a miserable old git.
The fact that the show finished when I was 12 makes me feel old. I remember watching the very last episode and feeling rather sad the next weekend.

You had your chance and you missed out. Just saying.
Also the only thing I remember from Prank Patrol was it's god awful theme tune.
