In the end, Manco, we're two different users. I prefer customizability (which isn't a word, but I'm using it) and complete control because as a video editor/restorationist, notorious torrent fiend, and amateur composer - I often work with weird file types, obscure programs, and need to run executions that are either impossible or more difficult on Macs. Plus, in full hipstery charm, I enjoy being in the minority of people who are artistically inclined and still prefer PC's over Apple.

You like Mac because you're a plug n' go kind of guy and you want a machine out of the box that's sleek, easy to use, and is great for media. It's the ultimate peoples' computer, and that's why Mac is still a popular machine; it's the best "no think" machine you can get retail. That's not meant to be an insult. There's nothing wrong with wanting the entire working package fresh out of the box, and for the price you pay for a Mac, you should feel downright insulted if they provided you with anything but.

The one other pro I can say for Macs is that part of that sticker price goes towards security. Macs are inherently more secure computers than PCs and - with the right care - will last a long time. It's just that most Apple users are Geek-Chic clods who can't appreciate this because they upgrade every two years. My family had an older Mac that lasted about 10 years. I think it still runs, actually, though kind of poorly.

Unfortunately, security becomes more of an issue every year as more advanced Trojans and Viruses are born, but that's less of an OS issue and more up to the user's own intelligence.
