It’s actually my current plan too. I got an iMac with enough hard drive space to stick a decent-sized partition on it. I was planning on using it for Windows-only Steam games.

Go on Newegg and build your own rig for substantially cheaper. I made an insane gaming/video editing rig for about 500 less than what the same machine would cost on retail. Install Windows 7 and Linux on a dual boot so you essentially have two separate computers on one machine.

You're using the wrong software then, try Cubase or FL Studio.

Most industry professionals don't edit on Macs actually. They have custom rigs designed specifically for editing and nothing else. The only leg-up Macs have is that they have pretty good graphics capabilities for a pre-built. But again, that's if you're buying pre-built. You can build your own that rivals all Mac pre-builts in graphical capabilities and function for a fat percentage less than you'd be paying to have that half-eaten apple sticker on the side of your tower.

I never called you elitists. If you wanna be scammed out of an extra 200-500 dollars for an OS that you have zero control over, that's your prerogative.
