Direct3D in Oracle Virtual box/VMware

I decided to try VMware player instead of Oracle Virtual Box. I preffer VMware because it has this thing called VMware tools, which are hardware drivers for the guest OS (I think).

That is cool because I can switch the guest OS to full screen and the resolution of the guest OS will be the max resolution of my monitor.

Unfortunately, it doesn't add DirectX/Direct3D support. Fortunately, there are a few solutions to this problem.
  1. Purchase VMware Workstation

    Pros
    • Easy to use

    Cons
    • Costs money.
    • Experimental.
    • May only work on some guest OSes.
  2. Use WineD3D

    Pros
    • Free
    • Can work on other Virtual Machines (like Oracle Virtual Box).

Has Spooce-aholic suddenly become a spambot?

You're one to claim spamming. Your constant fucking ponies are annoying to say the least.

Only in the past few days, I have mentioned ponies on this forum, so calm your passion.

Microsoft have never made any statement on Wine. And they're not exactly shy about expressing their disapproval.

Also: What is this blog about, now?

Me trying to play 3D games on Windows ME.

I installed WineD3D but dxdiag still can't detect direct3D.

Since WineD3D uses OpenGL for rendering, maybe I need OpenGL too.

There's stupid pony spamming, then there's this.

I'm not sure which is worse.

At the very least, Oddman's comment is pretty out of line.

Man, what a faggot.

Reading this. I felt depressed how I had no idea what's going on.

It's like school all over again.

Is that a non-standard semi-colon? STM would praise your avantgarde approach.

My comment wasn't out of line, the ponies are just really annoying and he posts them all the time, then says someone else is a spambot.

That faggot insult really hurt by the way, because you really know me personally don't you?

No, clause seperation is standard usage.

Oh shit! It's all kicking off here.
I do not post ponies all the time, I can't remember the last time I posted a pony image, and I mention them when they are brought up, so top spamming, this blog is about... Actually, I have no idea, but it certainly isn't about anti-ponage.

Usually when members call each other 'faggots', they are joking, not just because around half of the active members are gay, but because if they really wanted to insult you, they would be much more intelligent with it and have you crying on your knees, trust me.

Have a sense of humour

While many members may seem to contravene the above rule, the friendships the develop between members makes the atmosphere of the Oddworld Forums very informal, and consequently what might be read as rude is likely to be intended humorously. You are advised to laugh off critical comments; they are not an excuse for ‘returning fire’.

OOSH.

I can remember a thread where you did post something about ponies and it was totally on you. So don't.

Other than that I have nothing else to say on either subject.

It must of been a while a go, and if you mean the Facebook thing, I didn't bring that up. It only annoyed me that he had a go at WoF who was clearly joking.

Some old 3D games aren't compatible with Windows XP, Vista, or 7. So I'll need to run them in a virtual machine.

The only one I had problems running was Resident Evil 1. The rest of them worked normally / through dosbox / with fanmade patches

The game I'm trying to play installs fine, but when I execute the game, the OS ignores it. It doesn't show up in the task manager or the processes.
