Anyone have any garden parties? Our neighbourhood did. Pizza, cola, free burgers

The concert was pretty good too. Great performances from Paul McCartney and Tom Jones.

Edit: Sorry for the weird double post. Must have been a browser glitch

I agree with OANST, I'm fed up of hearing about the fucking queen all the time!

Only Queen I wanna hear is the band!

I felt sick every time some fucking peasant mentioned the jubilee, mentioned the Queen (who I reject, and also, the Royal family are directly related to the Kaiser of WWI and have a really horrible history) or put up the Butcher's Apron (otherwise known as the Union Jack).
The whole thing is sinister, and I hate it. Maybe not financially, but I am equal to that family of inbreds.

I was just discussing this with my British pop.
He told me that most intelligent people in the UK recognize the Royal Family as a bunch of pointless autocrats who amount to little more than tabloid fodder.

I dislike what the royal family stand for and view them as an outdated relic - I'm pretty sure they cost us a hell of a lot more than we get back from tourism. However, let people have their silly parties if it gives them a reason to celebrate and makes them happy and joyful - The royal family isn't the biggest evil in the world by any means.

But the whole point of the jubilee is to keep the lame-brains "happy and joyful". The thing's a fucking ditraction, and the same goes for the Olympics. I bet you that half of those fucking imbeciles whose faces are perpetually jammed in the decaying brown crack of the Royal Family would say that they oppose the class system, even though they celebrate the very thing which epitomises it.

Let's forget the Queen and talk about the only good member of the royal family: Prince Philip

:
1. China State Visit, 1986

"If you stay here much longer, you’ll all be slitty-eyed!"

2. To a blind women with a guide

“Do you know they have eating dogs for the anorexic now?”

3. To an Aborigine in Australia

“Do you still throw spears at each other?”

4. To his wife, the Queen, after her coronation

“Where did you get the hat?”

5. When asked if he would like to visit the Soviet Union

“The bastards murdered half my family”

6. To a Briton in Budapest

“You can’t have been here that long – you haven’t got a pot belly.”

7. To a driving instructor in Scotland

“How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?”

8. After the Dunblane shooting

“If a cricketer, for instance, suddenly decided to go into a school and batter a lot of people to death with a cricket bat, which he could do very easily, I mean, are you going to ban cricket bats?”

9. To a student who had been trekking in Papua New Guinea

“You managed not to get eaten, then?”

10. To Elton John after hearing Elton had sold his Gold Aston Martin

“Oh, it’s you that owns that ghastly car – we often see it when driving to Windsor Castle.”

11. On the London Traffic Debate

“The problem with London is the tourists. They cause the congestion. If we could just stop tourism, we could stop the congestion.”

12. To the President of Nigeria, dressed in traditional robes

“You look like you’re ready for bed!”

13. Unknown

“If you see a man opening a car door for a woman, it means one of two things: it’s either a new woman or a new car!”

14. On key problems facing Brazil

“Brazilians live there”

15. To the matron of a hospital in the Caribbean

“You have mosquitos. I have the Press”

Actually, the revenue from the Crown Estate more than covers the royal family's expenses. Given that the Queen is legally the owner of the Crown Estate (which is held in trust by the government), it would be wholly returned to her if she were deposed and the British government and people would be a lot worse off.

The Queen is a pretty cool lady who came to Ireland and didn't afraid of anything, except a pint of Guinness.

But I'm not doing any street parties or, from this point onwards, I'm not going to even acknowledge the Jubillee.

I think I remember that Ireland visit, didn't she drag away one of her associates after he tried to drink some Guinness, I can't remember who it was now.

But those queens don't even appear in the games?

I haven't done a thing for the jubilee. Load of bollocks.

I like that unemployed people were given paid work to act as crowd security during the celebrations, except they weren't paid. These high unemployment rates are quite convenient for big businesses.

Because tourists would stop coming to see it? Or because we'd still be paying her?

Because you wouldn't be paying her £8 million every year, but you also wouldn't be getting the £210 million of revenue from the crown estates either. Basically, the UK is 200 million pounds better off having her as queen than otherwise, and that's not even taking in to account the tourism.

I've heard we'd get more money from tourism if we demolished the royal grounds and built another Legoland there instead.

Well, she's got to defend das Vaterland somehow.

The concert was a bit shambolic, really. I laughed when Grace Jones screamed "Happy Birthday Queen!". And Elton John thought she'd been on the throne 65 years. Apparently neither of them had been paying much attention.

I do actually like it all, the sense of national pride that surged through the country, it's not like we have reserves of that. The sheer happiness that Jubilee presented to the majority of the country is worth their stay. Because what's the point of living if you can't be happy? The concert was a bit crap though, and it rained so the local street party was a wash out. Ahh well, it's a good few days.

Things are much more complicated than they seem, and the Royal family aren’t actually as profitable as they first appear.

I'm not bothered really about the Jubilee, It's something that I don't consider celebrating. However I do like the Royal family, they are part of our heritage after all and it's quite unique to have one. I guess I am proud to be British. When they had the Jubilee Concert last night and seeing all them people with UK flags, I did make you feel proud.

Street Parties are a stupid idea in modern Britain. Almost every street in Britain has a least one 'chav' family and I for one don't want to eat with them. Also our street is on a hill. good luck getting a table of food on it.

Wow. Squeezing in the Oddworld references. I really don't think it's a great comparison, seeing how we never actually saw the 'Queens'

It made me feel ashamed. What a bunch of peasants. Today I saw some footage of the Queen up on a balcony, waving, everybody cheering waving their nasty little Butcher's Aprons. It was quite sinister, and looked like the Third Reich.

Elizabeth's death though, will be the best time ever to get rid of the royal family. I will never ever think of or recognize Charles as a king.
