What A Shitty Day...

Posted 12-25-2011 at 01:05 PM by JennyGenesis
So all of you here have probably been jollying it up today, but for me, urgh, this was the worst christmas ever, not the worst christmas ever in a few, the first time ever I have not enjoyed the day at all.

For starters, I have felt absolutely no excitement at all, which is highly unusual for me, so, to cheer things up a bit, me and 4 friends went out to a pub last night for a nice night out, and, it wasn't, talk about depressing, all of us felt miserable, just not excited at all, we just sat there, at a table, with our drinks, looking like depressed wrecks, and we didn't even speak to each other, we just sat there quietly...

So I came in at 1am this morning, went straight to sleep, here comes 7AM, the dog wakes me up by wiggling around in my bed, then just as I get back to sleep, the kids get me up...

I felt happy when I unwrapped Saints Row The Third to find that it came with the Professor Genki stuff, but, as some of you have read in What Are you playing right now? III. I don't like the game, so that just made my day worse with a disappointing present, disappointing in the sense that I think the game is crap.

Another present I unwrapped was a t shirt of a Haynes manual for a Jag E Type, I unwrapped it, unfolded it and took a look at it and went "ummm..." my Mum asked if I didn't like it, I said to her "Yeah I like it, I was going to buy it myself when I saw it but, look, its too big" she goes "No it's not, I bought you a medium, you always wear medium" So I informed her that it was infact large but she was adamant she bought a medium even though I went and showed her the label inside the T-Shirt which stated "L" for large, but nope, she's adamant she got a medium, I've only just managed to convince her to get her arse in gear and swap it for one that actually fits...

So my grandparents come over, I asked for Goldeneye 007 Reloaded off them, and, they delivered the goods, with a surprise, because they bought me the "Mi6 Edition" which I didn't even know existed, again, I had a moan about this in What Are You Playing Right Now? III, because, you know, when I ask for Goldeneye 007 for christmas, I don't expect to end up with Call of Duty...

So, another disappointment...

Next problem requires a little backstory,

I asked my parents for some Dr Martens and they were honest and said that they could not afford them, my boots were in dire need of a repair to, so I went and got them repaired instead since I knew I wasn't getting any Dr Martens, but wait, what happened? Oh look, I have Dr Martens, which I appreciate, but wait, I just wasted money on getting my old boots repaired, which took fucking ages to do as well!

Then, 2 family members of 2 different friends passed away today, so I spoke to them about that, which is, well... depressing.

Then I got this friend who likes to broadcast it very clearly that is he single and looking, almost everyday he has to post something on Facebook bitching about being single and today was no exception, except he had to make it christmasy by associating it with the classic song "Jingle Bells"

If you were to translate his text into a physical action, then he would be on his knees begging for a boyfriend, he even got pissed off at me once because we slept together a few times then got pissed at me because I said no when he asked me for a relationship... urgh! So that annoyed me as well!

But I did get some cool leather gloves, a new coat, trousers and a belt, and it's strange to think that today, I am actually more happy about the clothes I got instead of the video games... hmmmmm...

Indeed it does - At least you got some gifts, JG. And that's more than a lot of people get.

(BTW, Dr. Martens aren't all that fantastic, try Haix instead)

I appreciate I got what I asked for, I'm just disappointed with the outcome of the games, not the fault of the person who bought it, like I said, I appreciate they did it, I'm just disappointed that I don't like the games.

I had fun today scrolling through a few dozen retweets by @shoutsatcows - lots of spoilt brats on there. I was reminded of just reading the name and first paragraph of this blog. I didn't read any more than that.

I mean, why laugh at a spoilt brat's tl;dr rant when you can read a <140char tweet?

I fail to see where this spoilt brat thing has come from, How would you feel to get a game you thought was goona be good and then it turns out it's not good, like I said, I appreciate the thought that people went and bought the games for me, I just didn't like the games, so I don't see how I'm a spoilt brat because surely that would just be me bitching about the games and not giving a crap about anything else.

I actually couldn't stomach finishing this. Boo fucking hoo you didn't get everything you wanted. Nut up and learn to like what you did get.

Honestly, take a long hard look at how the first part of your blog was self inflicted, and the latter parts were just wretched.

The only problem with my gifts was that several items of clothing appeared to be in child sizes.

Why did you find SR3 so bad? From what I've heard, it's tons more fun than the second one. Other than that, I don't have anything to say about the blog...

Frankly with a blog titled 'What a shitty day' on christmas I expect nothing less than an Eastenders level tragedy.

Now, your friends whose relatives died today. Their days were shitty, I like how you casually inserted that in after whining about games and shoes for a few paragraphs.

Normally, I believe that you can't really compare other people's problems with your own, or say that a person's pain isn't real just because some guy in Africa died or whatever BUT HOLY SHIT SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU WHINY CUNT

I think JennyGenesis has every right to complain about his day and he has my full sympathies.

Actually, that's a bit of an overstatement; I just think everyone else has been kinda dicks in this blog and wanted to redress the balance somewhat.

I can sorta feel for this blog post. One of my gifts today was defective and it looks like Im going to have to replace another one of them. Thats far from the worst part of the day though, that title belongs to my family. The best belongs to The Binding of Isaac.

I think it was the part where he argued with his mom about the shirt and then made her promise to return it for him before he was able to upgrade the situation to distasteful but livable that got me.

Really? I thought that was fair enough. If anyone bought be an item of clothing that didn't fit, I'd be surprised if they didn't immediately offer to replace it for one of the correct size. And if they insisted that it was the correct size despite evidence to the contrary, then I can assure you that sarcasm would ensue.

I just think that one shouldnt be bummed out cos of presents x_X i know this sounds lame... But it's the thought that counts. Id definitely not let Christmas be ruined just cos I didnt like my presents...

But as for the other stuff, I can understand it sort of made everything else blegh.

Gonna try not to be dicky, I think you've had a lot of that dished out at you and another isn't going to be right. Buuuut... your Christmas doesn't sound that bad to be honest. You could have prevented the issue with not liking the games by playing a demo beforehand, I know last Christmas when I wanted to increase my collection of games I tried some demos out to make sure I'd like them come Christmas, and I did. If you discovered you didn't like the games, you could have asked for different ones. Also, I would have been absolutely over the moon if my parents had bought me something that they said they could not afford. Not only would it be a huge surprise but I'd feel really touched that they bothered to spend the money on me. Sure, I'd be a little miffed about finding an alternative beforehand, but my new gift would prevent me becoming annoyed.

Yeah I understand that one there Jordan, maybe I should have played a demo first, but to my knowledge there is no Goldeneye demo, but I loved the n64 games (like everybody) but with Saints Row, well I loved to, so I expected this one to be even better. oh well, I can see my fail tin that part there.

And seriously OANST, what is the point in being stuck with a t shirt that doesn't fit me? It is not going to cost my mum anything to sort it since she still has the reciepit, it's just a matter is visiting the Tesco which is a 3 minute walk away and replacing it

I don't see why you felt the need to write this, I haven't read it all cause I really enjoyed my Christmas and I can't stand Bah Humbug stories.

For what I did read, you didn't get it bad at all. At least you got presents y'know.
