You're an artist and you didn't... knart... ist...

Is your background star scape accurate? And surely a lava planet would have a dense atmosphere?
(Mwahaha, I challenge you with your own blade!)

The star scape was an afterthought to hang it in space, I'm not very happy with it. I may change it, or use the planet in another scene later on.

I figure the atmosphere is still forming, vulcanism producing some, and the planet just growing large enough to acquire and hold onto an atmosphere at all. Also I couldn't get clouds to look right. Frankly I have no idea what the sky of an accretion dick object would look like from space. Does anybody? Man.

What you should have said was "Hey bone head, where are all the impact craters?" That's been bugging me ever since I noticed it, literally seconds after it was done.

Oh come on, it doesn't have to be 100% accurate. It's very good.

It is; I was merely speaking in jest (though I was interested to hear your answer).
I imagine it'd eventually end up looking a little bit like Venus?

Surely the planetary surface would be dynamic enough to heal over impact craters quickly?

'Quickly' in geological terms, of course.
